Few DJs could adequately represent the last three decades of New York nightclub history as well as Justin Strauss.

He's been spinning since he was 17 and has visited the booth of nearly every dance club in New York and around the world, pioneering his own distinctive sound, and becoming one of the most sought-after remixers and producers. He has worked with artists such as Depeche Mode, Hot Chip, Sergio Mendez, Tina Turner, Jimmy Cliff, B-52s, Luther Vandross, 808 State, Malcolm McClaren, Skinny Puppy, Goldfrapp, LCD Soundsystem to name a few and on over 200 records.

As half of the production duos, Whatever/Whatever and A/JUS/TED, he continued to produce and mix records, working on remixes for the likes of Hot Chip, William Onyeabor, LCD Soundsystem, Blood Orange, Holy Ghost!, Franz Ferdinand, Beyonce and working on new projects like 'Extra Credit' with Joe Goddard of Hot Chip & Marcus Marr, and with Max Pask under their Each Other moniker, whose debut E.P. was mixed by Soulwax and released this year on their Deewee label.

ID - Unreleased incoming! We celebrate our 100th podcast with a mix that consists 100% of tracks by artists we've had on our show. There's a lot of unreleased material and rarities in here from artists we hold close to our heart, so we're very proud of this one.

We'd like to use this milestone to thank all of the artists we've worked with. The fact that they are willing to share their passion and vision on electronic music with us, fills our hearts with joy and gives us enough energy for another 100 episodes! It's been an amazing ride so far, and that could not have been possible without the music and the appreciation of our listeners all over the globe!

Beyond The Struttopshere is a sonic collaboration between two London-based DJs channelling their considerable musical production experience and boundless love of cosmic chugging dark disco. Their debut EP ‘New Frontier’ was released on Gouranga Music in late 2020 and found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity, also appearing on Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series. This propelled the duo to newfound heights, leading to highly lauded releases on esteemed labels including Mélopée Records, Astrolead Recordings, Discolypso, In Dark We Trust, Emerald & Doreen and most recently X-PRESSINGS. Beyond The Struttosphere’s music is now making sonic reverberations around the globe, hitting the airwaves of Burning Man, ADE and Sisyphos Berlin, and notching up remixes from notable legends of the scene including Rebolledo, Rigopolar, Vongold, Badknife and Mufti. The cosmonauts are always immersed in the studio, working on new material, with live guitar now a mainstay of their productions. Their trademark sound combines fat chugging basslines with reverbed guitar riffs, syncopated arpeggiators, cosmic synths, vintage vocal samples, Italo drum fills and psychedelic 303 sequences.
