In the world of inspiration, some forces stand above and ring out louder than others. Chris Widman-- producer, co-host and co-founder of Abstract Science Radio-- stands among them. With over 25 years at the helm of Absci Radio and +1,000 episodes delivered to the Chicago airwaves and beyond, Widman's legacy is nothing short of phenomenal.

Horizontal listening events are my favorites. "With closed eyes, I'm transported to a forest, surrounded by the scent of pine and wet grass. Sunglasses on, I settle into a camping chair as the psychedelic downtempo beats of the second day at Parallel Festival unfold. Feeling completely at ease, I sway to the music, and later, I rise from the chair to float, ensuring this magical moment becomes a cherished memory."

From there, the mix evolved into three movements that were influenced by the Metro/Smartbar "23 Hour Party People" chill room sets through which I first got to know Hi-Vis.
