Indian classical music has always been an inquisitive form of harmony for me. It has always been a dream to create something where I'd be able to fuse the true soul of Indi classical with electronic sounds.

After working tediously at my little studio, I came up with this original composition celebrating the true spirit of Dravidians. I present you, 'Curd Rice'. It is simply an attempt to represent the true spirit of South India and its rich culture.

The cover art is designed by Owl Solutions which is inspired by “Kolam”, an ancient art form especially followed in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Kolam is created by forming geometrical designs around dots. It represents the happiness, positivity and liveliness of a household. It is intended to welcome Prosperity and Good Vibes.

Andrea Morricone and Cristian Viviano link up to superb effect on a fantastic new single from Descending Order that comes with remixes by Superga 84, Joy Kitikonti & Solwings.

KidBess is the guest vocalist and makes a fantastic appearance that lends the track real emotion. The sweeping strings, the warm drums and broken beats all get you up on your toes with the spine tingling vocal adding to the overall effect. The Superga 84 Retrowave Mix is then more chilled out, stripped back and deep. It has lush synths and gentle drums that get you in a fine state of content. Last of all, the Joy Kitikonti & Solwings Essential Mix is deep and rolling for the late night hours in the club, with plenty of majestic melody.

All in all this is a fantastic EP that covers many different shades of house.

Dark Matter is the stage name of two Israeli brothers from Tel Aviv, Chen and Dor, whose career as producers began in 2019. Having transited through some other styles at the beginning of those productions, they have finally anchored their sound in Melodic Techno.
Their debut release for Awen Records is the EP called Perception. The title track is based on a hypnotic rhythmic pattern to which different melodic pads are added in a journey with different sonic heights. A remix by Cypriot duo Paul Angelo and Don Argento completely tweaks the rhythmic base without losing any of the original spirit.
Out of Bounds is built from an epic and dark intro that is reinforced well into the track with Tom Shwartz's vocal contribution and some haunting piano notes, resulting in a track full of dark matter energy. To complete the EP comes Aurora, an emotional outpouring full of suggestive melody and constant rhythmic cadence to close the release with a beautiful flavour.

With the bleak acid line that wraps itself around the arrangement and that melodic synth lead by my friend @ronyguitars , ‘Parvati’ is a percussive funky hypnotic ride where moody chords, one-note bleeps and dense percussion makes it an intense combination.

Having kick-started 2019 strong both musically and performance-wise, Hollt is dropping ‘Nothing Changed’ on die Stube Records; a varied release that includes a remix by Jaap Ligthart.

The somewhat darker ‘Nothing Changed’ features a nostalgic - non-stop - bass sound that is aimed towards the peak moments of a set, opening up during its more euphoric breakdown.

Inception is a warmer, solid, low-end groovy track with its smooth and rounded solo melody, aimed at those early moments of a night.

Edit emperor Jaap Ligthart’s twist to ‘Nothing Changed’ opens up the original, introducing new soundscapes with a strong and rolling beat.

Anis Hachemi & Alex Kaspersky link up for the epic new album Baths Of Antoninus on Dear Deer. Anis is a label regular, and Alex is the label head honcho, and they both come together here with a big techno sound that comes laced with melody.

Future Retro opens up with gritty bass and widescreen synths that wash over the groove and then Africa brings more afro tinged drums, Better Life is dark and edgy with a spraying synth line and Dogon Tribe then gets you in a trance with the lush chords. Rave in Sahara is hard-hitting and moody, with grainy chords and gritty textures, then tracks like African Rage and Future Acid show the range of this pair as they serve up more peak-time cuts with searing acid lines and bouncing drums. After the tense and adventurous Carthage with its gauzy chords, Decadence closes out with hands in the air.

This is a coherent and complete album that really takes you on a deep and cosmic techno voyage.

Ashok Pai AKA Beyond Charlie started experimenting with production tools Like FL Studio, Technomatrix and Ableton at a very early age.
