OTW Premiere: Doc Zee - Sanguine [Self-Release]

MAOA present a luscious 4-track EP of Psy Dub and Chill Out. Co-Arise offers a warm embrace away from our hectic world - gentle textures woven with hopeful emotion. Inspired by the Buddhist principle of dependent origination, these tracks remind us that we emerge together, interdependently. A soundtrack for coming home, breathing deep, and remembering: everything is going to be alright. This is an ode to hope.

Many moons ago I had the opportunity of doing a remix for my good friend @samkdc. Sam is one of my favourite producers and also happens to be one of my favourite people in the world. He released the 'Six Degrees Of Separation' EP on @deepsoulmusic and I chose to flip the title track . The remix EP was never released and sadly the label was retired soon after. Now, after many years as an exclusive, I have decided to give away the track. If you're feeling the vibes then I would very much appreciate if you would give my @hydro page and this @beyondhere page a follow so that you can keep up to date with all my new music, mixes and forthcoming releases. Ever since Kyam sent his track 'NOLA' through, we knew he'd be an artist to watch and now a few years after it's release on the 'Decade In Breakbeat' compilation we're following up with a 3 track solo 12".

'Sigh' kicks things off with it's wistful guitar notes counterpointed by some heavy hitting beats. Kyam rolls it back to his band playing days on this one, also jamming on a bass guitar to compliment the lead lick. Things really kick off during the breakdown - a wailing, distorted guitar sound coming to the fore, and once the beats drop back in, we're into overdrive !! The main motif later combines with the edgy riffs to give a bitter / sweet ending to this unique piece of D&B. Imagine The Prodigy's 'Voodoo People' crossed with Photek's remix of Therapy? ... it's kinda like that (!)

The flip side is probably more what you would expect from our camp - 'Fernweh' combines a snappy drumfunk style with a wicked bouncing b-line. Pitched chimes and airy drawn out atmospherics add to the vibe before a darker brass sound leads a more introspective 2nd drop. Dancefloor business Subtle Audio style !

'Trinket' is definitely the most frenetic of the 3 tracks here, featuring all manner of edits, filters, echoes, cuts n chops. The drum acrobatics are kept in check by a booming bassline, a soothing, repeated refrain and some dubbed out sonics. It all builds up to a swell of strings n synths at the end which seem to be the perfect ending to both the track and the release as a whole.

The Dreamers Recordings is proud to introduce you to Harka and its first release on The Dreamers “Days Thinkin’ EP”. Harka is a UK based talented producer and dj, he is constantly exploring 160 to 170bpm music with a clear reference to the footwork, old school jungle and ravey spectrum of sounds. These 4 tracks perfectly describe its musical research and show its great capabilities in programming and producing.
“Body Talkin’ ” opens the EP with an excellent mixture of footwork drums and ravey sounds combined with heavy basses and culminating into an addictive rhythm.
“Days Thinkin’ “ gives the name to the EP is a more relaxed tune, that makes a clever use of jazz samples, combined with a drum pattern evolving along the track. This tune fits perfectly in the Dreamers catalogue with chill footwork jungle sounds. 
“45” goes straight to the dancefloor with an aggressive rhythm based on heavy kicks that will make everybody jump, the track finally evolves into an interesting halfstep section that is enriched with ragga vocals.
“Haste” makes clever use of iconic drum machine claps and other samples combined with a synth melody to build an addictive and intriguing atmosphere that evolves into a strings chord progressions in its second part.

Harka brings together a melancholy mixture combining elements between the best retro riddims with a futuristic flare. Based in the UK, this Yorkshire lad intends to pull your heart strings with evocative melodies, intense rhythms and sassy hook-lines. His signature hybrid production style incorporates influences spanning the ocean of underground bass music from the UK, to the USA and beyond.
