Striking first, “Naos” steers its listener in an EBM black mess of roaring synths arpeggios, menacing basswaves and processed incantations. Poisonously addictive floor-melter inbound. A bespoke prog-minded roller turned wild robotic hijack, “Zirkon” feat. Tony Casanova shifts the scope towards hi-intensity buildup engineering with clinical precision. “Elbrus” then veers off into further deep-diving melodic grounds, pulling out a nostalgia-based elixir of dubbed-out textures, shy synth eruptions and muted drumwork. Our next release comes once again from our good friend Marius Drescher. After his hit „We Had It All“ in 2020, Marius strikes back with his new EP "Hunter". The title track „Hunter“ is a powerful, melodic dancefloor bomb for those ecstatic peaktime hours. Following with „Memory Lane“, Marius shows us his talent to combine nostalgic soundscapes and driving grooves. The third and final track of the release is called „Shadows“ and closes the EP with a vibe of darkness and flickering lights.

A classic packaged with a rather plain title, ‘Solid Session’ is back to shimmer and sparkle on Be Yourself Music courtesy of ace marksman Joris Voorn, bringing the sound of fellow Amsterdam great Orlando Voorn, under his Format alias, bang up to date after thirty years in waiting. Its dancing synth notes play like a neon fountain, and backing keys provide a warm protection, rising and falling with an unassuming but all encircling grace: this session, with passing glances towards Three Drives and CRW, leaves headphones fizzing and arenas energised. The legacy of the original is kept in the highest regard: even when it reaches its spikiest point, Joris keeps a clear head for the benefit of those wanting similar enlightenment.

Joris Voorn is one of the jewels in The Netherlands’ dance music crown, celebrated for taking charge of marquee compilation sets for Fabric, Balance, Cocoon, Fuse, and his utterly unique entry in the Global Underground series. His desire to keep moving, including work as Dark Science, Third Nation and latest incarnation VIRSION, has set benchmarks year in year out. Four Joris Voorn albums, heavy on prestigious collaborations and critical acclaim, interlink with his respected Green, Rejected and Spectrum labels, and nurturing an audiovisual spectacular when playing to his adoring public; and despite his been there-done that status, Voorn’s vision remains as sharp as his early 00s ‘Muted Trax’ debut.

"Orlando was one of the first Dutch techno artists who always came with big records", says Joris, "and 'Solid Session' is probably his best known when he switched to his Format alias. Remixing this was a great challenge as many have taken it on over the years, but at the same time it was a great honour. At first I gave the track an entirely new sound, before some spontaneous studio improvisation took over for the final mix, and I also couldn't resist bringing back some of the original's vibes for added flavour".

For those unaware of the Orlando Voorn original or wanting to escape to ’91, Joris Voorn comes up with an oh-so solid solution to take it back to the future.

Originally part of their April 2018 Particles EP, Dimuth K, A-Jay and Shannon Davin brought together their combined talents from the island nation of Sri Lanka to produce a twin-track release of impressive proportions. Now, Yin and Yang reprise one of those tracks, as "Horus" receives new remixes from Argentinean and fellow Sri Lankan stars.

Operating out his Colombo home, Subandrio Sinhawansa has forged a strong and carefully constructed career path that has seen him become "Middle East DJ of the Year" on multiple occasions through his ability to "paint a masterpiece every night with energy and synergy." Contemporaneously pursuing a production career, the Sri Lankan star has found his work allied to an array of major underground labels that include Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital, Matan Caspi and Stan Kolev's Outta Limits and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat. With over a double century of production credits to his name, Subandrio returns to Yin after May 2016's remix of Nicholas Van Orton, taking a typically intelligent approach to his remix of "Horus."

Given percussive urgency through 16th note hi-hat pattern and immaculately placed woodblock, a grooved bassline and heavy beat builds energy while sumptuously textured pads gently reveal themselves. Retaining the essence of the original, a glorious arpeggio opens up in the breakdown before rhythm and bass hold court once more in the third movement to dramatic effect.

Produced by British dj/producers Dylan Burns & Stretch Silvester it got the remix treatment from Spektre’s Filthy Rich, Nicole Moudaber (Intec) and Bar 25 resident Dirty Doering from Berlin.
