Down by the docks there was little to be found but for battered old warehouses and lonely wanderers. This had once been a place of industry and invention - now it was an eerie reminder of a world and an enterprise lost to the depths of time. The clouds loomed thick overhead as the darkness of the evening grew closer. Soon however, this place would spring to life once more, beneath the shadows dancers came out to play and shake between the former engines of creation. At least the warehouses still offered that, as little as it was. 

Carl Finlow is set to release a new EP on Avoidant Records, a recently launched label and offshoot of Soma Records. This record is a heads down, moody, electro affair - the type that will rock dark rooms and keep you fast steppin' into the small hours.

For this 228th Premiere of 2023, we have a track by the Ukrainian Electro producer "Lectromagnetique" (@lectromagnetique) titled ‘Space Coast’ from the forthcoming VV.AA EP "Blue Binary Code" on the Electro label from Madrid runned by UHF (@uhf-1) and Elesox established in 2014 : Gladio Operations (@gladiooperations).

Gladio Operations presents its eighth release titled “Blue Binary Code”, an EP that returns to the various artists format and is accompanied by relevant names from the electro scene.

The first artist to get us underway is an old acquaintance of ours, Boris Divider (@borisdivider). The Spanish artist gifts us “Gods Of Olympus” a fast-paced cut with aggressive bass lines that inevitably takes us back to Boris' beginnings; a wise choice!

The producer Igors Vorobjovs (@igorsv) is one of the new faces on the European circuit. On his first appearance for Gladio, the Latvian producer signs in with “NH3”, an excellent track that is deep, enveloping, and well moulded with fine and subtle acid touches.

Side B launches with Lectromagnetique, who returns to Gladio with “Space Coast”. As it could not be otherwise, we find ourselves before an energetic, powerful and overflowing cut of dark atmospheres, so characteristic of the Ukrainian artist in his productions.

The American producer Francois Dillinger (@fdbeardd) is another of the new faces on Gladio in 2023. Directly from the motor city comes “Agitated Particles”, a cut where Francois brings us his most hypnotic vision of electro sound.

The EP concludes with the producer Chris Morgan, better known as CH415 (@ch415). With releases on renowned labels such as AC Records or Brokntoys, the Welsh producer leaves us with ”Spaze Modulations” which takes us to a more cosmic and relaxing level.

Very nice five tracker debut containing fresh and punchy vibes as well as dancefloor tools, this first outing also features a darker rework by the man Annanan, who made us a strong impression on solid labels such as Pinkman and Forbidden Planet

It's a full four track EP, with raw massive beats over a 90's feel, ecstatic house landscapes which has that totally unique, beautiful naive and devastating dancefloor destruction factor.
Going from glorious overwhelming power house to ‘Prescription’ like deep groovy house towards 'tape techno' basement tracks to familiar sounding anthems with that deeper than deep underground feel. It's all there..... made for dope sounding sound-systems drowning into dreamy worlds.

Shadowy Dutch producer Yaleesa Hall returns on his Will & Ink imprint with yet more fascinating techo derivatives. We thought it was pretty hard to beat his last release (Zoe Hayley Laura) but WNK 013 certainly delivers the goods. From the Bristolian, low-end driven techno assault of "Daisy Wright" (featuring a truly ripsnorting bass!), it follows the slow burning, dystopian electro journey "Barbara Adams". The electro flavour continues on the flip, with some mental smacked-out breaks on the futurist journey "Harriet Brown" which comes with a rather experimental and IDM influenced VIP mix to even out the B side.
