Fly By Night kick off 2022’s proceedings with Departure, the second V/A from the label, as FBN010. Departure reflects the full spectrum of the ever-changing UK music sphere, exploring the depths of leftfield dance music, whilst remaining distinctly club-focussed. 

FBN010 sees the return of some familiar faces to the label, alongside some exciting fresh faces. Broadly spanning system-rattling, breaks-infused, vocal-stuttering tracks, Departure sets the tone for the year ahead.

All profits raised from FBN010 will go towards UK-based charity Sister Supporter. Sister Supporter is a pro-choice, anti-harassment organisation, who are working towards achieving a national solution to allow those who wish to exercise their legal right to healthcare to do so without interference and judgement. 

Fly By Night’s Departure V/A is the first release of 2022 and will be out on all digital platforms on Friday 4th March.

The third vinyl on @outofsortsbristol sees @dyslecta return to the Bristol label after his contribution to the imprint's debut VA back in 2021. 

This time, it's a debut solo vinyl venture, 'Panzer', for the Yorkshire-born, London-based producer - Dyslecta serves up four heaters laced with his signature rugged grooves and grinding drums. 'Want-Need', a self-professed love letter to Swamp 81 and their influence on his formative partying years, chugs through the gears of swirling acid and crispy percussion to see out the limited edition release in style.

The year is 2050, humanity is collapsing and overrun by an anonymous entity, known as the Robodroid. The mission of the Robodroid is to end civilization as we know it.

After their successful collaboration debut “The Darkness Is Coming” on Crobot Records, Robodroid is back once again with a new release. Now the Robodroid has traveled back through time to reprogram the future. The EP includes four dark and aggressive electro originals and two remixes by none other than Maelstrom and Dexorcist.

Robodroid is a futuristic electro project ran by Przemek Kuduk (Robodrum) and Ben Evans (The Droid).

"When it looks as if you had made up your mind finally to stay at home for the evening, when you have put on your house jacket and sat down after supper with a light on the table to the piece of work or the game that usually precedes your going to bed, when the weather outside is unpleasant so that staying indoors seems natural, and when you have already been sitting quietly at the table for so long that your departure must occasion surprise to everyone, when, besides, the stairs are in darkness and the front door locked, and in spite of all that you have started up in a sudden fit of restlessness, changed your jacket, abruptly dressed yourself for the street, explained that you must go out and with a few curt words of leave-taking actually gone out, banging the flat door more or less hastily according to the degree of displeasure you think you have left behind you, and when you find yourself once more in the street with limbs swinging extra freely in answer to the unexpected liberty you have procured for them, when as a result of this decisive action you feel concentrated within yourself all the potentialities of decisive action, when you recognize with more than usual significance that your strength is greater than your need to accomplish effortlessly the swiftest of changes and to cope with it, when in this frame of mind you go striding down the long streets - then for that evening you have completely got away from your family, which fades into insubstantiality, while you yourself, a firm, boldly drawn black figure, slapping yourself on the thigh, grow to your true stature.

“Jazz (We've Got)” was the title of the second single from A Tribe Called Quest's iconic album “The Low End Theory”. It was released in 1991, the same year FloFilz was born. Similar to Tribe FloFilz resurrects jazz for a new generation. He has been doing this for a while now and is pretty good at it, as you might know if you are familiar with his previous works “Metronom” and “Cenário”.

In 2019 things have changed. Today jazz is not only about diggin' old records and learning about Bird and Trane. Jazz is very much alive and the city of London has become one of its epicenters. The UK jazz scene is happening because it is deeply connected with hip-hop, soul and club music. A perfect setting for FloFilz. Over the last 18 months, he has collected serious Eurostar miles, heading from Aachen to London - going to gigs, hanging out with musical allies and recording new material.

This is why he calls his new album “Transit”. Through 18 tracks FloFilz translates the current London vibe in his very own style and fashion and I dare to say that “Transit” may be the best album he has treated us with so far.
