Not much to report about this friendly dog from the neighborhood, only that he’s always up to no good. His favorite food is pizza and his only hobbies are doing dirt and spinning tunes on a regular. To be precise - every Friday. 76 Mixtapes in the books and counting.

It all started when the pandemic hit the hardest, roughly 19 months ago, with his first mixtape named “Cabin Fever”. As the title already suggested - this was his way to cope with the lockdown and the sudden lack of social interaction. He found love and warmth in the music he carefully collects and the “Digest Mixtape” series is trying to give some of that positivity back.

TLDR: Cute, Quirky, Fun & Sweet mix, recorded live at Joy Bar in Copenhagen.

There's an oasis of great vibes hidden in Copenhagen called Joy Bar. A sweet spot where the music is controlled by local dj's and the drinks are affordable enough for the creative class. I absolutely love it.

On July 16th i did a 6 hour set at Joy. Spinning everything from Jazzy cuts, to funky groovers, classic house tunes and internet gems. But in the middle of the set, i did something different.

I've been gathering tunes i've found. cute, quirky, weird (in a fun way) and similair. Thrown em' into a folder with the idea, that i would one day play a set that was quirky, cute and fun. This is that set. VERY different from my usual mixes. But it does as intended. It puts a smile on my face and i hope it will put a smile on yours too :)

There’s no one who does it quite like Laurence Guy. Here he returns with an uplifting house cut that deftly manipulates samples in a 4-track exploration of friendship, imposter syndrome, and life’s many other roller coasters.

It was the father of long-time pal and confidant J Peacock whose record collection provided the intricate tapestry of samples that forms ‘Can’t Find Her’. It’s a story of losing yourself, and regaining your purpose by indulging in the unifying potential of creating music collaboratively. The theme of cross-reference is carried through to ‘Extremely Present or Present in The Extreme’ and ‘You Do Your Best to Hide The Good Parts of Yourself’. The first sees a rhythmic shift with shuffly triplet drums that back an old Folk record sample, whilst the title track sees Guy repurpose old vinyl gems to meditate on the universal experience of attempting to conceal our anxieties from others. Finally, ‘Waiting For Love’ takes a trip down memory lane. Conceived in 2015, it demonstrates Guy’s steadfast passion for constructing immersive, enchanted worlds. Over the course of Guy’s seven-year career, these worlds have been visited over 52 million times via Spotify alone. As his latest release will confirm, you’d be foolish not to do the same.
