This song, another older one, is unique that the 'lyrics' are composed (in English) in the ancient Norse metre of 'fornyrðislag' (also spelt 'fornyrdislag/fornyrthislag), which is alliterative, and is a good adaption of the spirit of Old-Germanic verse to acoustic-folk guitar.

The song recounts the Old Norse legend of the dwarf named Andvari and his gold-hoard obtained by Odin and Loki on one of their expeditions, and how it in turn resulted in a curse upon the hoard. The story continues to relate the story of Sigurd and his guardian, Regin, and how Sigurd is incented to slay the dragon, Fafnir, to claim the hoard, which was the same before mentioned, and thence how Sigurd slays Regin who'd been planning to betray him..
