Sounds of Khemit proudly announces the release of "Mujer Inalcanzable," the latest single by Bákayan. This captivating track, featuring remixes by renowned artists Jim Rider and Goyanu, is set to be available on all major streaming platforms from June 21.
"Mujer Inalcanzable" draws its inspiration from a Turkish classical song of the 1970s, a cherished genre and era that resonates deeply with Bákayan. The track began with a haunting melody, later embellished with rhythmic percussion layers. The decision to infuse this composition with Spanish vocals was intuitive, driven by the emotional connection felt between the language and the melodic groove.
In pursuit of this vision, Bákayan had the privilege of collaborating with Pablo Despeyroux, a renowned flamenco guitarist from Barcelona. This extraordinary musical journey was facilitated by Pablo's daughter, who discovered Bákayan's search for a flamenco artist on Instagram. Together, they created "Mujer Inalcanzable," a timeless ode that transports listeners to the sun-kissed shores of the Spanish Riviera and beyond, evoking the warmth and allure of exotic places around the world.
Jim Rider and Goyanu, known for their unique styles and innovative approaches, have contributed their exceptional remixes to this release, adding new dimensions to the original track and ensuring a diverse listening experience.

Sol Selectas welcomes back Safar with his "Majaneen" EP, featuring three Afro Tribal tracks inspired by his Moroccan and Arabic heritage.

The title track “Majaneen” translates to “the crazy people” and embodies the untamed energy of dance floors across the globe during Safar's performances. It also nods to his unique, wild style of storytelling through music.

“Laafou" literally translates to “Pardon” in English, and the song pays homage to a holistic ceremony from the Gnawa culture, a ritualistic practice aimed at seeking divine forgiveness. On the song Safar collaborates with AMVN, and Abdellah Stitou on vocals. 

On “Escalera” we hear the more melodic afro side of Safar’s expression, skillfully merging edgy analog sounds with Afro tech drums to forge an electrifying groove.

The artwork by Helia Jamali captures the essence of Majaneen in the  lands of the desert travelers, and the harmony of the ancient sounds and electronic beats.

Sabo's record label, Sol Selectas welcomes the return of French Afro house artist Safar (FR) who delivers a three-track EP.

Safar (FR) is back on Sol Selectas with his second solo EP for the imprint, he has also remixed a track by ARKADYAN, and released solo tracks via a number of the record label's compilations.

Now a core member of the Sol Selectas family, Safar (FR) continues to dazzle with his organic tracks that combine the electronic sounds of his European upbringing with the tribal rhythms of his African heritage.

His vibrant and upbeat style fuses percussive flair with organic sounds and spellbinding synths to create compelling tracks that are perfect for the dance floor. His tracks and remixes can also be found on other influential record labels ranging from Stil Vor Talent to MoBlack Records.

"Majaneen" opens the release with a groove built around shuffling percussion and synths played in triplets. The track has a traditional African string instrument and organic flutes combined with off kilter synth chords, which combine to create a vibrant track with upbeat energy.

"Laafou" blends funky bass chords with live congas and powerful Gnawa vocals that fill the track with captivating emotion. It has a stomping groove that will get people stamping their feet to the rhythms of the heavy percussion.

"Escalera" closes the release with a chugging groove underpinned by a deep bassline and pitched tom drums. Dramatic bass chords and Arabic synths give the track an expansive sound that builds to the suspense of a sun-drenched breakdown, before the drums are reintroduced to release an exhilarating burst of energy.
