Celebrated Spanish techno artist Ascii.Disko returns to Biatch Corp for release number 13 on the label with two divergent remixes from Taster Peter and Jussi-Pekka. The original version is an intriguing slice of rough hewn techno, exactly the kind of ruggedness on the dance floor Ascii.Disko has become well-known for. 

Rising Italian techno producer Taster Peter significantly re-works the track in to a dark, peak hour chugger complete with rolling drums and polyrhythmic glee that cannot be easily ignored. 
Rounding out the three-track release is a remix from Finnish star Jussi-Pekka giving the source material a wild ride that combines a shuffling house beat, funky Latin percussion, and even a slight hint of Yello. His re-interpretation strips away the industrial strength techno edge of the original and replaces it with a warm, inviting deep house vibe that will get dance floors jumping for joy.

Being quoted by his peers as "Mr. Techno" this humble encyclopedia of electronic music knowledge has been there, and done that, and found ways to capture the imagination of others through his music forever. Pat passed away from ALS on 3/2021 after his 40th birthday, and created music without the use of his hands up until his passing.

Pat Fontes' love affair with music began at the tender age of 11 during the early 90s- collecting mix tapes he’d purchased at the local Portuguese market. As a teen he quickly progressed to buying records en mass of garage and house vinyl. By 16 Pat started DJing throughout Boston, and by the early 2000s was managing and later became owner of Satellite Records. During this time Pat was also a resident DJ and manager of the long standing often heralded, Midweek Techno in Cambridge with buddies Soul Clap. As a 22-year industry veteran and local hero Pat Fontes has shared the stage with the likes of Martin Buttrich, Paco Osuna, Timo Maas, Cassy, Pan Pot, The Orb, and Patrice Bamel. 

Pat’s production style is uniquely his own ranging from upbeat tech house to deep melancholic techno and house. His discography includes releases with Slumber (Amber Cox & Oona Dahl), Martin Eyer, and Derek Marin. 

In 2017, after being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) Pat began focusing all of his energies towards his love of music and sharing that passion with others.

“My emotions run much deeper than I could imagine and I’ve been learning how to leverage this creatively. I haven’t stopped doing what I love for 21 years- and will continue ‘til I physically can’t, and have since left my mark on this world of music and beyond.”


Fontes is excited to share his upcoming release on Re.tune and Future is Now Recordings with the world, as well as some gems from techno’s past, present, and future
