Indie dance champion Biesmans shares the first taste of a special new project on Watergate with his ‘Teamworks’ EP. 
 
The Belgian artist enjoyed a standout 2021 with the release of his debut album ‘Trains, Planes & Automobiles’. Now in summer 2022, he comes strong with a stellar five-track EP, that celebrates the beauty of collaborative work.
 
‘Holiday’ sees Biesmans connect with Danish artist Kasper Bjørke for a full-bodied slice of cosmic dance, driven by neon synths and elevated by Jacob Bellens’ nostalgic vocal. Biesmans re-links with old friend TomTheBomb who featured on last year’s album, for ‘Shock Therapy’ a driving house jam that touches on electroclash, college rock and pop. Ascendent French artist Mala Ika makes her Watergate debut as she teams with Biesmans on the fantastic ‘Crème Brûlée’, a celebration of their shared love of ‘80s electro. ‘Hounds of Hell’ is his collab with the Adana Twins, which was birthed during a studio stint in Hamburg, and is built around a catchy disco arpeggio. A synchronic follow-on from his release on 17 Steps in 2019, Biesmans taps the Dusky brothers for ‘Back in the Daze’, an emotional electro cut made for end-of-night moments.

organic house sounds on his Akati EP.
Rami Imam has risen up through the ranks from local star to
international talent over the last few years. With every release,
he serves up a melodic odyssey with soothing tones, deep
grooves and powerful sound design. He has released through
the likes of Bibliotheque, Street Tracks and Upon Access and
now brings more dynamic sounds and ethereal moods on his
connected debut.
The sublime 'Akati' soon enchants with its organic house
grooves and wooden percussive hits. Choral vocals light up
the airwaves with real soul as the majestic synths bring
poignancy to this deep roller. On 'Dune Kids', the beats are
broken up and take you on a ride through space next to lush
chords laden with melancholy. More delicate piano keys and
whispered vocals are underpinned with a soft, subtle acid line
to make for a tune that builds to a peak full of rejoice. Stylish
closer 'Kora' provides more soft but moving drums and
melodies, wispy synth motifs and serene vocals. It's packed
with the sort of emotion that will make it stand out in any
setting.

Fedele’s Obscura Music continues to set a precedent for underground electronic music through a wave of carefully curated exploratory releases from hand-picked global talent alongside the Bari-based label boss himself. The latest shining example of Obscura’s ever-expanding avant-garde appeal is also the second chapter of Fedele’s ‘The Awake’ chronicle - following the well-received arrival of Pt. 1 in July 2022.
					
Spike Express’ opens ‘The Awake, Pt. 2’ with an expectedly potent and pumping Indie Dance thunderbolt from the label boss. Boasting pulsating grooves and a plethora of concrete analogue musicality from start to finish, it’s another head-turning frequency-rich stomper from Fedele that keeps you well within a firm grip for the entirety.

‘The Envelope’ matches the searing vibe with another remarkable club-focused cut from the Italian. Undulating drum work and fizzing hat sequences provide a blend of punch and swing whilst gritty lead melodies and atmospheric soundscapes bring the track’s ominously ear-catching persona to life.
		
On the flip, we welcome two remixers to the project to provide undeniably unique and blistering offerings. Electroclash’s founding father, French electronic icon The Hacker pairs with fellow Bari-native Golden Virgo.

I’m Biesmans—Belgian-born, Berlin-based. I make “Heart Groove”: house music that’s supposed to do three things: make you move, make you feel something, and connect you with the people around you.

The sound? Warm grooves, analog synths, melodies you’ll remember on the way home. Nothing overly complicated. Just music that works on a dancefloor — the kind that needs a few hours to really take you somewhere.

I’ve played some incredible club spaces: Panoramabar, Fabric, Fuse, Dedge. Festival stages: Tomorrowland, Pukkelpop, EXIT, Fusion. And plenty more rooms in between

My music’s been released on Running Back, Turbo Recordings, Correspondant, and my own label MUEM Records. Made an album called Trains, Planes and Automobiles, and put together the Watergate 28 compilation with people like Mathew Jonson, Zombies in Miami, Kasper Bjørke, and Shubostar.

I’m passionate about synths — spend way too much time in the studio messing with machines and posting (POVs) about it. That’s how the music gets made: trial, error, and finding sounds that hit right.

Currently working on a new album for 2026. Same mission as always: create moments on dancefloors where people lose themselves, feel good, and remember why they love this music in the first place.
That’s it. Physical, emotional, social. Everything else is noise.
