so here it is: our Turmbühnen set. It was something truly special for us to play there. We have been dancing and celebrating there for many many years in the past as guests, even when we started doing music together as umami.
Some of you asked why we didn’t sing live or played so few umami songs. Thats because it was a DJ set and not a live set! Besides, we wanted to play a little different than normally and combine our current style with the way the Turmbühne sounded back when we started to be there.
So a big thank you to everybody who was there and shared this moment with us!

PS There was a misunderstanding between us and the soundguy at the end of the set. We cut that part out because it is annoying to listen to :)

It starts without rush. Natural sounds, soft pads, a diverse soundscape, open minded. Then the bass is coming in - straight and loud. A mixture of organic and electronic music, a mixture of old and new - welcome at the “Ancient Lake“, so clear and colorful. We are invited by Jonas Saalbach, a well known Live Act and producer from Berlin. On his first album he combines melodies and dancefloor elements, hard bass lines and story telling instruments.

We’ll find tracks grown with time on the album. Some are based on classical techno styles like “Driven By Madness feat. MZ Sunday Luv“ and “Hammada“. Others are made for listening and dreaming like “Thinking Of You“ and “June Gloom“. You can feel the spirit of summer in every number, the desire for adventures in the nature, the energy of the sun. Jonas Saalbach presents his summary of a year full of travels and studio nights. His cooperations with Paul Klatt for example, are an important part of his work. Berlin is a big playground for him with a lot of inspiration every day and so the album is like a story board of life, a perfect starter for a new season, energetic and unstoppably creative.

Environ boss Morgan Geist returns to his love for Detroit techno, Chicago tracks and generally exceptional dancefloor music with the first in a new series of EPs: Megaprojects One.

“Megaprojects are by definition large-scale, high-tech and cost billions of dollars, whereas this is a collection of low-tech tracks made with cheap little drum machines and rejected old synths, so I thought it was a good name. I composed and mixed to the best of my ability and with hope they'll feel more 'mega' than they actually are. And of course I've always felt inspired and fascinated by actual megaprojects: imposing, surreal engineering and architecture like giant hydroelectric dams, soaring bridges and strange-looking, exposed-concrete government buildings.”
