This is the *OFFICIAL* Kids Across America G.H.O.P. page. G.H.O.P stands for "God Honors Our Praise". In the year 2010 Kids Across America (a non-profit sports based Christian camp) realized that there were so many kids that were talented with the expression of arts. So, with this realization director Dwayne Pano and counselor Justin Santos created G.H.O.P. (God Honors Our Praise). With the starting spark of just getting kids to pick instrumentals, write songs, and perform on the last day in front of their fellow campers, GHOP soon expanded and set ablaze a brand new direction! In 2013, visionary & director Ray Arechiga raised funds to support GHOP in ways never thought possible. With a funded blood bus, Ray gutted it out and placed state of the art studio equipment inside for the kids so they can record their art! In 2014 with generous donations, GHOP now has a building for kids with not only a recording studio, but also a dance studio, and a painting/art studio. So enjoy the hearts of these talented 13-14 year old campers as they honor God through their praise.

The Kenny DeShields Experience brings the heart of life, love, and music to the stage with a collection of original songs, penned by the singer/songwriter. With a style that dabbles along the lines of Bruno Mars and John Mayer, Kenny allows listeners to take a look into the heart of a man with an undying zeal and passion. Kenny is currently showcasing new tunes from the highly anticipated "The Real Love Project," slated for a Spring 2020 release. After taking a year off from performing to focus on writing new material, the new album takes the listener on a journey of life and love. 

Kenny is no stranger to taking the “road less traveled.” The Real Love Project is a breath of fresh air to a familiar but overlooked topic. “Love’s not just a four letter word. It’s a day by day, moment by moment, conscious decision. It’s a culture, a way of life.” says Kenny. 

The album features production and writing credits from some of the who’s who in the St. Louis music scene, including Grammy Award winning producer/artist – J.R., fellow singer-songwriter, Theresa Payne, and his wife and media personality/fashion stylist/blogger, Christia DeShields.

He was a 2014 & 2012 nominee in the RFT Music Showcase for Best R&B Artist and the 2011 Winner for Best Gospel Artist in the RFT Best of St. Louis category. 

Kenny has had the privilege of sharing the stage with music greats such as Grammy nominated and BET J Virtual Award Winner - Eric Roberson, Tyscot Records Recording Artist - Christopher Lewis, Leon Timbo, Anthony David, Mali Music, Meaghan Williams, Daniel Eric Groves, and Sunday’s Best Finalists - Jessica Reedy and Durward Davis.

Ken Owens is an African-American artist, born on May 19th, 1994. He grew up in a small town in the state of Alabama. Music sparked his interest at an early age. He went from rapping at basketball games, to forming a rap group with his friends, to starting a journey as a solo artist at 18. His primary sound is Trap & R&B/Soul with inspiration from Pop, Afro-Beat, and Gospel. You will notice that his music is primary clean with messages of hope due to his faith in God.

“I was about 13 when I first started writing and rapping with my homies. My parents didn't even know at the time because I didn't want them to know what I was rapping about. I remember riding to school with my cousin and him introducing me to all these different rappers and how the bass in the trunk pumped my adrenaline. I remember my mother listening to a lot of R&B and how the melody expressed these strong emotions. I remember being at church and how gospel music heightened the energy in the room and how it was freedom there. So I have all these different influences within me as I explore my own sound. Fast forward to now, I would say my music is pretty universal. My topics vary from project to project so it’s plenty that people can gravitate towards. All in all, I’m grateful to have music to be able to express myself & inspire people at the same time.”
