On the custard mixtape series this week we have Pete Ellison. 
Having been DJing since 1998 and starting out originally playing vinyl, his music collection from those 20 years is vast. It covers a variety of genres from house to nu-disco, funk to techno and everything in between. 
Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 8-hour set.
He runs a DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties in London, playing an eclectic vibe of disco, deep house and techno. 
For the past year he has been broadcasting a weekly show called the “Feel Good Friday Radio Show”, featuring stellar guests from the world of funk and nu-disco.
More recently Pete has started producing his own tracks, with his first EP coming out on Super Spicy Records later this year!

S.O.T.A. (Nu-Disco & Edits 06/21)

Samosa Funk is back on the Myhouse Radio menu with another awe-inspiring musical carnival from Les Inferno and DeGama 

First up, we have the boogie maestro himself, Les Inferno opening up the vaults and pulling out classics from the likes of Prince, Crown Heights Affair, Marz and Cameo. It’s another spectacular hour of crate digging and swagger from one of the best in the business. 

Continuing the funk shakedown for the second hour we have DeGama. This is a set which subverts expectations and is something quite different from him. A more eclectic and laid back vibe and featuring tracks that he absolutely loves, it’s a wonderful insight into DeGama’s taste buds. 

The boys have been busy with their regular Monday night gigs at Rome’s Hotel Butterfly on Gladiators Avenue, all we can say is we wish we were there with them. Instead, we’re more than happy to settle for two hours of stunning music played over the airwaves, delivered with that Samosa Funk panache.

Samosa Funk Vol. 14 feat Les Inferno & De Gama

Episode 62 packs in more genres than you can shake a shoehorn at, covering vintage disco, jackin’ house, down and dirty boogie funk, random edits, some latin flavours, raw funk and more. There are some brand new promos, some dusty files lurking in the depths of my collection and more than a sprinkling of funky business. 

I open the show with one of my favourite tracks of 2021 so far, the bizarre but mighty Where Your Shoes At by Brothers In Arts. And then an hour later I hand over to those very people for an excellent guest mix. I’ve been a big fan of this French duo’s productions for a while now, I play their tracks regularly both on this show and my livestream, and I just had to ask them along for a guest mix. They deliver in substantial style with 57 minutes of beautifully selected disco gems, perfectly mixed together into a funky treat.
