Undoubtedly one of Manchester's finest curators & producers in the scene, Team GB is back with his new 3-tracker “Drum Circle” and we have the honour of premiering it over on our Soundcloud. Not only does he supply the best footwork & juke nights in town with @jukejointmcr, he’s also always been killing it in the production game.

“Get it Gurl” starts off as a percussion-driven track with heavy bass stabs, which rises in energy through the introduction of subtle rave stabs and faster footwork rhythms. Tight hip-hop vocal samples flow in and out throughout to round it off and hook in the listener.

Between 1 April 2022 and 30 September 2022, food banks in the Trussell Trust’s UK-wide network distributed 1.3 million food parcels to people facing hardship – this is an increase of 52% compared to the same period in 2019. Half a million of these parcels were distributed to children. The charity says that for the first time, need for emergency food is outstripping donations as the cost of living emergency is leading to a drastic increase in the number of people turning to food banks for support.

With this situation being more urgent than ever, Vief are delighted to announce their 2nd charity compilation will be raising funds for the Trussell Trust. Not only providing incredibly vital, immediate support to people facing hardship, the charity also works tirelessly towards the goal of ending the need for food banks in the UK.

Spanning genres and tempos, reticulation stands as the label’s most ambitious project to date, and owes its thanks to the immense talent and generosity of the 20 producers involved.

With acclaimed releases on prestigious labels such as All Centre and Juke Bounce Werk, @mxntrxss lays down some emotive, bass heavy downtempo  for the compilation.

Sydney based producers JV & Palf today share remixes for their recent debut Wren EP featuring Splitch, Cassius Select and Letabruthaknow.

Leading the charge is talented newcomer Splitch. His take on “JBNT” flips expectations and pushes the original deep into UK-rave/breakbeat territory with his Special Request-inspired remix. Unknown To The Unknown-signee Cassius Select reimagines “Don't Stop” as a shuddering, neck-twisting shuffle complete with stuttering vocals and galloping percussion. Finally, cult-hero and fast-rising Sydney producer Setwun revives his Letabruthaknow guise for a rolling percussive rework of “Gully” that neatly re-contextualises the original into something anew.

"The theme for this remix package was exploring Sydney’s diverse musical underground. We love this city and wanted to showcase three producers who have inspired us.

After hearing regular appearance from Splitch on FBi Radio’s Body Promise, we decided to reach out and get in touch. Known for his breaks & basslines we thought he would do a number on JBNT. His remix sounds nothing like the original and quite frankly it blows it out of the water.

Lavurn aka Cassius Select has always been a staple of left field bass for us . His Crook EP shook the ground and is still the benchmark we constantly strive for. Finally, we have Josh. While his main focus is his Setwun project, he’s been making waves releasing percussion heavy, tribal influenced tracks under Letabruthaknow. We were thrilled when he agreed to revamp the project for the remix package." - JV & Palf
 
Having already received support from FBi, 2SER, Triple R, spins on triple j and a feature on Bandcamp’s ‘New and Notable’, JV & Palf’s Wren EP is an engaging, pulsating and genre-pushing debut from the duo. Already fans of each other’s individual work - JV releasing under Plantlife and Palf under IljusWifmo - they met at a warehouse party in 2013. From there, they started sending tracks back and forth to each other online until they finished one song, which quickly turned into the Wren EP. JV (Corey Furey) and Palf (Max Palfrey) still rarely write music in the same room together, sending stems across until they have something that is worth meeting up over, before putting final touches on.

JV & Palf today add to their Wren EP, with a series of remixes from Splitch, Cassius Select and Letabruthaknow, proving they will soon be some of Australia’s connoisseurs of electronic music and forward-thinking club sounds.

Quarantine Sonic Squad is a collective uniting many electronic producers and musical activists in France (and beyond), born under the epidemic era and brought together by Tim Karbon. Its aim is to create a musical corpus that has its roots in today's electronic / club music phenomenon, regardless of genre attributions of any kind.

QSS VOL. 2 "LOCKDOWN COMBAT" is our new militant album, following the initial "DAL de Vivre" project which was thought as a musical tool to gather funds and waving public attention upon bad housing problematics in France, increased by the COVID-19 pandemic. This first opus was released in May 1st of 2020 & quickly gained critical / media acclaim from the like of Resident Advisor, CouvreXChefs, SeekSickSound, Dure Vie...

After uniting our energies to work with the DAL - Droit Au Logement ("right to housing") french association, which is helping oppressed and homeless people to get safe spaces to live in, we are now joining forces with the BAAM, another solidarity collective based in Paris. They are providing to all refugees & migrants a juridic, cultural and social support through french classes, administrative help and housing solutions, among many other things. They have also created a LGBTQIA+ safe-space for asylum seekers facing daily homophobia or transphobia.

This 49-tracks album is our personal tribute to all the people threatened by governmental actions with the hunting of refugees, to all victims of police brutality & systemic racism. Spreading sonic love to all our brothers and sisters who face state violence and neoliberal laws that place economic growth of the few above the right to live with dignity for all human beings. The whole piece will be exclusively downloadable on Bandcamp for a low price, with all funds going to the BAAM to help them on militant and activism aspects.
