Shikaka blends the sounds of contemporary pop with electronic, rock and funk elements. Writers and producers Alexis Rodriguez and Sergio Galindo moved from Mexico City to Boston in 2011 and 2012, respectively. After collaborations with other musicians and combining their interest in producing and writing music, they created Shikaka in 2013. They will release their first album ‘St. Botolph’s Psycho Journey of the Miracle of Science’ on December 3, 2015, which features the vocals of Gretchen Schadebrodt, Sara Merecedes, and Jack O’Brien. The duo has begun working on the second album, as well as producing their own independent music outside of Shikaka.
