The Remixes collection is a full-length re-imagination of "A Color Map of the Sun." Derek Vincent Smith – aka Pretty Lights – invited producers from a wide stylistic spectrum to remix the tracks from his latest album. Derek produced "A Color Map of the Sun" with no intention of having it be an album of dance floor bangers, but rather a collection of music that can be enjoyed anyplace, anytime, all the time.

These 'Remixes' are other artists’ interpretations of his compositions and self made vinyl samples. The tracks are mostly intended to be hard hitting, but they are also just very different. See the track list below for all artists involved in the Pretty Lights’ "A Color Map of the Sun Remixes."

The original version of this song is funky and upbeat, but I heard a few things in the lyrics that took me to a moody place and I wanted to reflect that in my remix and take it to a more emotional and fiery place.

Miss Primetime (Feat. Pell)

Highly Possible - I remember hearing Waka Flocka do a remix of a J Cole record a couple years ago. It was straight 90's hip hop style and he killed the verse on it. I made this tune one day and thought it would be dope to have some talk box vocals on it. I grew up on jazz and funk and hip hop records so i wanted it to be something that reminded me of that era. My boy Joey Porter from The Motet plays the talk box like no one I've ever heard today, he is a beast! I wrote the lyrics and he came over and did his thing and we laid down the premise for the song. I sent the track over to Waka and he loved it. He sent back straight flames! All of the planets aligned on this one and this is by far one of the dopest collaborations on this album.

Here’s the last song from my new album “Good Will Prevail” before it comes out on Friday!!! This tune was so much fun to put together with Brasstracks and Eric Krasno. I even got to record a church choir in a church for it! Dream come true :)

Broke Royalty is a record for those who think they can't make it. It's for the underdogs and the islands. Together we've built a kingdom of genuinely passionate people who don't seem to fit the mold of what royalty is supposed to be and I love you all even more for it.
