” La Thrace, région aujourd’hui méconnue, est à la croisée des chemins entre de grandes civilisations. Cette terre a enfanté de Spartacus et sa rébellion, mais aussi d’Orphée et de Dionysos, dieux et héros de la création, de la fête, du sens artistique. Substrat de rencontres, d’enivrantes péripéties, d’hommages aux dieux, de visions ésotériques, la quête de Thraces est de créer un maelström musical, un nouveau carrefour.

L’objet, un disque, est tissé des fils de diverses identités, qui s’entremêlent et se lovent en un chaos de citations. Sur le modèle de la boucle, ce récit n’a ni début ni fin. Embarqué, l’auditeur est libre de s’imaginer des situations, des rebondissements, des personnages d’Odyssée. Il s’agit d’une expérience nouvelle, dont les membres d’équipage constituent la chimère.

Telle l’hydre, une tête est coupée, une autre apparaît. Thraces se veut protéiforme. Ses membres vont et viennent en fonction du vent qui les pousse. Detroit, Amérique Latine, culture rave européenne, musiques traditionnelles allant de Bali à l’île de la Réunion, suavité glacée de la Scandinavie, ce voyage est universel.

Ce disque témoigne d’une volonté de célébrer des rencontres, de rendre hommage aux anciens, de montrer des pistes, de parler de prouesses et de défis, de dévoiler des projets. Il s’agit de l’entrée en scène d’un nouveau héros collectif : Eumolpe, à l’Epopée jouissive. Thraces est son oracle. ”
