Steinway artist, Chad Lawson, decided Chopin needed a new introduction. Along with violinist Judy Kang (Lady Gaga, Ryuichi Sakamoto) and cellist Rubin Kodheli (Kanye West, Norah Jones), Lawson has arranged ten Chopin works into a minimalist landscape.

It's a risk editing the "poet of the piano" but one that Chopin would be proud of.

Taking 10 Chopin works, Lawson decided to scale the works down to a minimalist setting. "I knew even if bare-bones, Chopin's works could still be as spellbinding as the original compositions we are so familiar with." says the pianist.

Erased Tapes artists and friends Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm have separately carved out a musical career that defies genres both with their unique live shows and a loyal fan base that’s always eager to hear what their prolific output will bring. 

Their latest collaborative 2-track release ‘Life Story Love and Glory’ is a live improv affair on two pianos, recorded in 2012 at Nils’s Durton Studio in Berlin. Fans may wonder why they have waited until 2015 to release these tracks, but having revealed a new website www.arnaldsfrahm.com you may think this may not be the end to their musical story this year. 

“We would meet in Reykjavik or Berlin with the intention to share some days off work, hiking, swimming or eating pizza. That is great for a couple days, but after a while we would always end up back in the studio, fiddling with synths or pianos.” – Nils Frahm

Going to watch one or two episodes of LOST then I'm going to sleep.
No more of this Beatbox..... the impurities in the alcohol are really not worth the pleasure of drinking.

Tomorrow I gotta go to the bank to deposit my money,
around 3, 3:30, I'm going to Confession.
Also am ordering stuff for my motorcycle;
really important, I need a tire inflator, chain lubrication, and
I think that's it for now.

I'll worry in the future about how I should store my bike in the extreme cold-weather/snow.

I don't think I'm going to spend money to have it stored at the dealership, it's just too much money plus time and energy to go back and forth there.

Anyways.
After Wednesday class, I went to Giant,
I bought some Hard Tea and Hard Juice, called Beatbox.

I drank on that Wednesday night.....
which led me to call-out on Thursday (though, I really needed a day off from all this work stress I've been talking to you about).
I got my sick-form signed and turned in today.

I bought three Beatbox's on Wednesday and had one before class.

This is making me appreciate more expensive spirits and liquor because I am making a conjecture of the type of alcohol that was used to make this hard tea/hard juice.

The price vs. the impurities in the alcohol.

I have a headache which I assume is from the impurities.

I'd rather drink liquor and I appreciate it much more now.

I don't really like beer anymore.

I've become fancy.

As much as the initial start is faster,
the come down, after effects of a Beatbox justifies its price-point,

inexpensive.

I just wanna stick with my Hennessy VSOP.
I'm ghetto, I drink Hennessy.
That classic/classy ghetto.

This is my conjecture:
- He is an immigrant turned US Citizen
- He understands College isn't free for some and classes (ultimately, credits) cost money
- Sympathizes with other immigrants who take his class (or those who are studying abroad and don't have as much fiscal resource)
- Makes his class easy and very forgiving

that's my conclusion, and that vastly and by far, outweighs my complaints.

As much as this may seem contradicting and very counter-intuitive.
I don't want to say this

this class is an easy "A",
he even mentioned during the quiz,
very indirectly to "google" your answers, but to show your work.

It's been a while since I actually wanted to learn
I don't want an easy "A"

it was open book.
I used my notes.

There were some things we didn't even cover.......

It's my ZOOM class,
so.....


it's very difficult to learn from him,
he won't use the assigned textbook which we didn't receive,
and teaches from a website

the syllabus is loosely structured, but it doesn't really give us anything concrete.

I think that's why it was "open-book".

To make up for the way the class is being taught.

This worries me a bit because I am majoring in Cybersecurity,
I WANT to know these concepts but it's kinda hard learning these concepts from him without any direction as to where we're headed.


BUT I know he's doing his best.
AND maybe I'm just overthinking what I expect myself I should know by next semester.

I have to remind myself that he is teaching A BASIC AND GENERAL OVERVIEW and nothing specific is what I should be expected to remember.
