Quite a few tracks stood out for me but if I had to pick one it would be trauma - higher. Paul kings sound really embraced everything great about HH during this period, tough but funky with that killer drop.. guaranteed dance floor destroyer . Fantastic mix look forward to the next !

Officially our first BB4L B2B ! 

Barry Ford (0DX-DJ) and Big Ry come together; joining their record collections to pay tribute to one of our hard house legends and earliest influences - Mathieu Thomas aka Banga Matt

In the early 2000s his productions featured heavily in peak time sets in Southend.  His distinctive sound was known for its cheeky vocals and hoover stabs, with catchy riffs and distinctive baselines. 

Matts tunes were guaranteed crowd pleasers and never left our record boxes.

I was very kindly asked to submit a promo mix for the Sundissential brand - a brand which has been dear to my heart for over 20 years. Of course, I had to oblige!

The BPMs are lower than my usual, but I still gave it a little turn of speed at 158 (and there's a little surprise mid-mix in there!). Lots of Hard Bounce and happy classics to create a real Sundissential vibe. It was an honour to create this, I didn't stop smiling from start to finish.

Serious Soundz - Warm Up To The Tidy Weekender

Megabyte was the finest Hard House event in Essex during the late 90s and early 2000s. It brought everyone together once a month for an absolute stomp fest of a rave. As Pete Blackett, everyone’s favourite Megabyte DJ (probably! 😊), has come out of retirement and dusted off his vinyl and decks to give us BB4Ls a special Megabyte themed guest mix, we thought it only fair to join him in this new mini-series….

This mix includes tunes that would have been played at the events back in the day. Big Ry has used his personal vinyl collection to create this, picking tunes that are only available on vinyl, including some of the rare gems from that time. It follows the flow of a Megabyte night, from chunky warm up, to fun & bouncy, then some thumping stompers, ending on the banging anthems that would close the show!!

We have agreed to withhold the track list for the initial period, to recreate that feeling from back in the day of not knowing what you’re going to hear in each DJs set, with the excitement you’d get hearing a little sample or stab from the new tune as it came in….

I thought it was about time I did a new Backdoor Bangers mix and there's been absolutely LOADS of awesome new music coming out so here you go! I've loved Hard Dance since 2000 when I first found Megabyte, an amazing Hard House event with great DJs, a unique sound, and awesome people.

Most styles get me stompin, but I find real joy from that bouncy, fun, happy 'megabyte' sound. My mixes tend to favour that, although I can't resist some female vocals, trancey breakdown, or a thumping bass line 🙌🏻. 

Over the last year I have begun including many genres of Hard Dance in my mixes, including techno, trance, hard trance, tech trance and EDM; and always try to include both current tunes and forgotten gems in each one.....
