Based out of Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island, I’ve been spinning tracks since 1998. Starting my journey with progressive trance, I soon expanded into house and breakbeats throughout the early 2000s. Over the last decade, my sets have evolved into a vibrant mix of nu disco and funky house, reflecting my true passion for keeping the dancefloor alive with groovy, soulful beats, and fun remixes. Always looking to blend the old with the new, I aim to take listeners on a fun filled journey through the ages everytime I step behind the decks.

Boomtown is the Bass music project of Laughlin Meagher. Through his work as a live musician & touring artist, electronic music has always been a passionate mode of expression for this dynamic performer. With 30 years on stage & 17 years behind the decks, Boomtown is known for dancefloor oriented music. Laughlin spent 2013 Touring North America with Kytami performing live DJ/Multi Instrumental sets at over 14 festivals, 7 US States, 5 Provinces and countless clubs and venues. Laughlin often tours in the summer as a multi-instrumentalist with GANGA GIRI.
Crossing many genres, Laughlin has shared the stage Many local & international acts including Adham Shaikh, David Starfire, Chris Hatfield, Walk off the Earth, Gaudi, Liquid Stranger, Delhi to Dublin, LTJ Bookum, DJ SS, Kytami, Trevor Moontribe, Andrew Interchill, Random Rab, Emancipator, JFB, DJ Nils and many more.

Boomtown is available for DJ sets, or as a Live Musician for studio or Tour work and also moonlights as a sound tech and Stage manager. 
Laughlin is currently producing electronic Fusion music with his new band Tripp the System.

Born, raised and hailing from Victoria B.C. Ry has over 15 years of experience playing clubs, parties and after hours gigs, Ry is also the founder of The Victoria Electronic Music Collective (VEMC) & The Summer Beach Series parties. He’s always had a long lived passion for the underground music scene and Electronic Dance Music.  Playing a bit of everything over the years has had lot of influence in his sound today, everything from Electro  to Break-beats his tastes have always leaned to the Deeper, Chunky side of Electronic Music so be ready for a musical journey of huge rolling bass lines guaranteed to get your feet moving and your body grooving .
