2014 has been filled with many ups and downs. A lot of different events in the past year really made me think twice about what everything means, both in my career and my life. I feel like I’m a pretty ambitious person, but recently I have been contemplating WHY I want to be successful as a producer/musician. I’ve come to realize that my ego was hard at work. The need to impress people, to be the best, and to showoff were some of my motivators to reach  success. I’m hoping to completely change that in the new year. 

I don’t want to change my goals and aspirations, they’re bigger and more ambitious than ever. However, what I DO want to change are the intentions for those goals (the WHY). Instead of stroking my ego, I want to make the best music I can make simply for the sake of spreading joy and progressing the art. Instead of putting unique sounds in my songs to seem “cool” or  “different” from other producers, I want a listener to be inspired to make something unique themselves.

So for 2015, I want to take a big mental shift away from my ego. Just drop that motherfucker and free up mental space to really make great music for the sake of great music. That’s what comes first! The branding, marketing, merch, etc. come second. Honestly just writing this stuff down and sharing it with you feels really good. 

I hope that we all have a sweet 2015 ahead of us! I deeply appreciate all the support you guys have given me so far. I have a ton of news (I know I keep saying that) that I will be sharing shortly! Cheers!
