Gatos Negros, aka Madrid DJs/ producers Christian C. & Iván Smoka, second album 'Hi Score' is a texture and abstraction gambling project now on sale via Vasco Ispirian's Made in Green Records label.
'Hi Score' sees the duo sailing ethereal ambient soundscapes, shady alt rock waves, experimental grooves almost horizontally danceable, acid electro-pop & avant-garde electronica- all in an utterly smart, consistent, and effective vocal fashion.

The album's fully hybrid and lethargic sonic land starts with the ghostly, almost shoegaze, borderline post-rocker 'The Ballad of Victoria Winters', followed by the troubling ambient 'Up in the Smoke'. Everything melts onto pitch black with 'First Sleep' only to resurface again with the spectral sonic 'Chasing Cassie', which gives way to the obscure narcotic shades of 'Night Shift'. A fuzzy, ethereal melody starring loops follows on 'An Alternative Route', while 'Galactic Gigolo' draws us out of the mist only to entangle us with playful counterpoint arpeggios. Kyonsi's proposal is a complete immersion in a bordering dream-pop warm space to wander through, searching for a light that only sparkles inside us. 'Say Goodbye to the Creatures' digs deep into melancholic post-rock noise and electronica, steady ascending ladder steps towards total emptiness. The gloomy 'Who am I?' foreshadows quite an unhappy, swampy, requiem-esque ending. And the final number, 'The Jukebox Dance', let us lose ourselves in this rare nostalgia that evokes timeless and distant dances that perhaps did not ever exist.""

Daniel Cortopassi, Dan C (Dj e produtor musical), desde pequeno já demonstrava muita aptidão musical. Influenciado pelo bom gosto musical de seu pai, começou a tocar bateria com 10 anos de idade. Durante 20 anos como baterista, tocou em bandas de rock, blues, soul e jazz. Mais velho começou a frequentar o mundo da música eletrônica e se apaixonou, até decidir trazer um pouco das suas referências musicais das bandas para o seu set como dj e suas produções musicais. The title track of Aria Rostami’s ‘Water From The River’ album kicks off in a rousing fashion with quick beats and celestial melodies, all lifting you off your feet and placing you up amongst the stars. 'Red of the Burning Wood' is a dense collage of percussive loops, fractured R&B vocals, and heavenly chords that suspend mid-air. Then, 'Gandom' offers more compelling broken beats and meticulously layered percussive sounds, watery synths, and muffled vocals that offer many different focal points.  'Esfand' on Rostami’s ‘Water From The River’ ups the energy levels further and is a hyper-speed rhythmic workout with shimmering pads and tightly interwoven layers of drums, while 'Water Returning' is an ambient interlude that allows you to catch your breath. 'Farvardin' once again takes off on fantastically intricate jungle rhythms and deft drum programming that is organic and alive, after which 'White of the Burning Forest' shuts down with another impossibly vibrant and lively mix of groove and tropical sound designs that keep you afloat amongst smeared cosmic pads.  "I think of Water from the River as a protest record to some extent but more on the level of the human experience of being caught up in forces. The larger world pushes in one direction, the ambitions of people pushing in other ways and you as a singular human caught in the tides - like water from the river carving through a boulder over time and being swept away with it towards something else." - Aria Rostami  Brooklyn-based Aria Rostami has been releasing music since 2011 and, since then, has released on esteemed labels like Dark Entries, Geographic North and Spring Theory, both solo and in collaboration with the likes of Saint Abdullah, El Joven and Daniel Blomquist. His beat-driven electronic music is often conceptual, draws on a wide range of influences and is made using predominantly hardware.
