Vilechrist is a solo project from Flipper (AKA David J Collier & named after San Francisco punk band Flipper) of UK hardcore punk band Poundaflesh & old school UK 80s bands Fatal Dose, Masque & The Aborted. VC was originally put together because i could not find anyone local at the time to work with & record with. The punk sound in the Midlands UK had a more metal edge with bands like Police Bastard coming through. VC took this & ran with it....
The project started at the beginning of 1998 demoing ideas & writing. Recording started soon after. All songs are written, played & sung by Flipper. Cover art also by Flipper. The tracks were all recorded King St studios (my house at the time!)......

Vilechrist never played live as Flipper was snapped up by HC Punkband Poundaflesh during its formation on the strength the material. Some Vilechrist songs became Poundaflesh songs however, most famously "Cry From The People".
The 2 albums sold almost ten thousand over the course of 3 years which in the DIY punk scene is quite an achievement. Most went overseas to Europe & Far East.
