Billegal Beats presents 'No Groove,' the debut EP from Sutikku. The release combines elements of glitch, ambient and jazz. Driven by heavy, evolving subs, reverberant pads, and organic textures, Sutikku creates a relaxed atmosphere in one moment and total chaos in the next. The dark arps, dissonant mid basses, and forward-thinking sound design keep the listener on edge, while the jazz-influenced percussion and odd time signatures explore new rhythmic territory.

Sorrow has been one of my top 5 influences in my music to date, and for a long time i've been listening to his work, from his "Art is Dead" on Fent Plates to "The Twelve" on Inspected. A lot of tunes from him really inspired what I do today. To remix this, and having the official stems, really help me learn a lot about arrangement and sound textures.

2nd song from my new ep forthcoming via @renrakuglobalmedia 6/26.

I had actually considered postponing this release in solidarity of the protests current happening in the united states, to keep the airwaves clear for the people involved so that their voices have the space they need. However, since I live in rural predominantly white state where there aren't many opportunities to act directly, I decided to use this EP as a small way to help ease some of the financial burdens of those fighting for their basic human rights.

All of the tracks on this release are HEAVILY inspired by music created and pioneered by black musicians, and as a white male, I acknowledge how privileged I am to have lived in the safety that my privilege affords. Additionally, the white majority I belong to has co-opted numerous musical movements originating from black musicians, so it is very important to take the time to respect and honor the creators(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen_break).

Because of this, I will be donating my portion of all Bandcamp sales to the BLM movement and the ACLU. I chose Bandcamp because it is by far the largest source of record sales for myself and because the funds are available immediately, rather than some 3-4 month quarterly lump sum later this year and the movement needs support NOW. I will also be matching this amount personally(up to $500.00 because I can't afford more sadly).
