Now I don't mean to get all sentimental and hyperbolic, but, you see Bill, it's true. You're quite possibly the best DJ on the planet.

Summer rain: our latest mix comes courtesy of San Francisco lifer Jeremy Castillo, a long time fixture of the SF dance music scene. He was a founding member of Club Lonely, a seminal SF institution that he ran with Vin Sol and DJ Primo, and he now runs what is "probably the best wine bar in the world" aka Bar Part Time. Jeremy is also responsible for curating the bar's impeccable bookings and its unmissable mix series and newly launched label Bar Part Time Recordings.

We've been bugging Jeremy to add to the Sharp FM series for years at this point, and we couldn't be happier that he finally found time to deliver a perfect summer mix. Some notes about from Jeremy himself: "[This is] a somber summer rain mix with a bit of off the beaten path synthpop, guitar laden disco, reggae dubs, and stuff played at the wrong speed."

The Grouch DJ is a record dealer, digger and DJ originally from the San Francisco area. Currently based in São Paulo, Brazil, when he is not at home, he is on the road DJing, and digging for records around the world.

This mix is compiled of some of the favorite digs from the DJs last year on the road, including records from all over Brazil, Peru, Washington State, Portland, Argentina, New York and beyond.

Avertissement : lorsqu'il ne s'agit pas de textes, les voix utilisées en anglais le sont uniquement pour leur sonorité, et non pour leur sens ( que la plupart du temps je ne comprends pas). C'est encore  le cas ici, dans ce morceau où les paroles, comme le reste de la musique,  sont au service de la composition d'un nouvel ambient, qui mélange voix pop et classique avec synthé et rythme african fusion.

Second imaginary soundtrack to the Barbès district in the 80's, endless cultural crossroad of Paris. 
If you looked for African, Caribbean, North African music record shops, labels, in Paris, they were mostly in the neighborhood. And some of them are still there.
Le Palais Rochechouart was the name of a small Record shop of the area at that time, specialized in African / Antilles music with a small pop & rock section.
Like the first one, it's a mix of African, North African and Caribbean music, with some Old School Rap too, 80's Block parties were happening one Metro Station away.
