One night Bill took me and a friend out into the bush in the Kombi.  We all drank way too much rum, then he said let's have some fun, and he reached over the back of the seat and pulled out a rifle.  Claiming to set up for some 'target practice', with the engine off, he turned on the headlights and we all stepped outside.

After a few shots Bill went off for a piss, so we just stood by the front of the Kombi waiting for him to come back.  I found out that night how you can tell when someone is shooting at you: you hear what the bullets hit BEFORE you hear the gunshot.  Bill was somewhere out in the darkness shooting at the headlights of his own car: ponngg BANG, pinggg BANG.  He came back laughing at our fear, and I never fully trusted him after that.
