This is a song about the memories I have of my departed mother, who inspired us as children and made our hearts grow light as we neared the end of a long day's road trip to Chautauqua Institution (the Inspiration for St. Elmo's Fire starring the Brat Pack") and topped the hill in Mayville, NY.  There we were treated to the long awaited glimpse of Chautauqua Lake sparkling with sunshine.  She would make a game of who could spot the lake first.  Even at the end of a long day's drive the excitement of it would thrill us, lifting our tired spirits and restoring joy.  That was only one of the ways she did that throughout our lives.  This song pays tribute to her for her ever-present inspiration.
