In my early days of digging records and dancing at House parties, I very quickly found Scott through mix tapes, parties, productions and label work. Scott is a Dj's Dj and he became someone I respected and followed.

Bio
This mix was curated by Scott Braithwaite. Former head honcho at underground Techno label Fragmented Records which was born in the mid-90s. Artists featured on the label included Paul Mac, Dan, Cutain, Chris Gray, Jay Denham, Jaime Read, Ordinary folk and Richard Lahaine. Scott was very active DJing from as far back as 1989 including trips to Brazil, Uruguay, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, Amsterdam, and Dublin. Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Ibiza to name but a few.

"This mix reflects only part of Scott's current tastes and includes more recent deep house and techno and a scattering of personal favourites from the Vinyl racks.

Billy Dalessandro always surprises us with his forward way of thinking, even more when he releases this EP with 3 tracks, each one tackling a different style and showing how deep he can go in exploring electronic music. There are no limits in producing and he is here to prove it. 
The EP begins with “Smoke and Chains”, which is a fully charged techno track, hypnotic and crafted for the most energetic moments. Futuristic with superb drum arrangements having beats that seem like a serious upgrade of the classic drum machines that made the underground dance music scene so special. 

“Chain Broke” is totally insane, starting from repetitive beats, evolving in a psychedelic fashion toward a breakbeat base with an eerie melody. All types of sounds are mixed generating a very unusual track that should be heard several times to understand the underlying vision of Billy Dalessandro. 

Finally, the EP ends beautifully with an ambient track that begins with long lasting pads and spacey sounds creating an ever pleasing ambience. At the end, a piano comes into play and leaves us in a state of pure bliss.

Smoke And Chains

The Eternal Oak (parts 1 & 2) (Original Mix)

Billy Dalessandro, the dude from Chicago, graces our mortal existence with his own musical prowess (and his infamous museum-quality tin-can windchimes). He blames his influences, that being punk, distorted guitar, pre-millennial hip hop, classical and jazz, piano, etc, etc...and other music he probably wasn't supposed to come in contact with in the first place. Which finally brings us to the climax, and why he's annoying everyone. Save the long walks in the park. He loves them fat, deep and remote, out in forests whilst constantly under pursuit by gangs of Canadian squirrels. And ever since 2000 he has been polluting the globe with his plethora of vinyl releases on labels like Force Inc, Forcetracks, Harthouse, Sonicutlure, Archipel, and his very own, Siteholder (plus others we don't have enough computer space in the world to even mention here). His tracks have landed him on two different Fabric mixes, blessed by John Digweed and Mathew Dear, and remixing-projects-galore will forever haunt his release dossier. As a performer, he is responsible for dropping very underground electronic music, all over the floor, kitchen, countless urban spots such as Panorama Bar (D), Harry Klein (D), Weekend (D), Lux (P), Nitsa (E), Sugar Factory (NL), Nouveau Casino (F), Drake Hotel (CA), Avalon and the Compound (USA), and at crazy fests like BOOM, MUTEK and Piknic Electronik. Rest assured that when heard in-person, on those stacks of 120db bins at your favourite whatever spot, you'll find yourself suddenly caught like a deer in headlights (and probably deaf shortly thereafter), realizing only then that it's like being trapped at an awesome theme park that's got no lines and free food. And as one exits, the vibes and memories of his music, those jacking grooves and heady, sonic landscapes that seem to endlessly please, never entirely fade, like a proper bad hair-dying job. And it's music you definitely won't hear in any dressing room (unless you're lucky). It may not always be to everyone's taste, but luckily that's not his problem. Billy is well aware that all of us are different, with massive varying degrees of appreciation and understanding. So his exit strategy, as put, is to live and let live, and for all to enjoy the show whilst there's still the chance to dance!
