This mix brings together recent work by producers from many corners of the world, but its title isn't about nailing down a specific contemporary sound. It's personal. With the arrival of our second daughter, my emotions are running high, and I’m once again in awe of the miracle of nature. I was looking for a natural accent in this selection, maybe with a bit of a psychedelic touch. Because that is my sound of today.

When I made this selection, I realised that the tracks come from very different parts of the globe and I decided to include the producers' locations in the tracklisting. I believe that where music is made adds a unique flavor to its universal language.

Dirk Wiertz is an Amsterdam-based Dutch producer and DJ, known for his Electro-focused sound and his work at Concerto, a leading record store in Amsterdam. 

Since his debut in 2021, he has released music on labels including Cyber Domain, Diffuse Reality, 8RGR8, Intellitronic Bubble, LDI Records, and Tiger Weeds. 

He curates monthly mixes on SoundCloud and maintains a consistent presence in the European underground electronic scene.

His real name is Raphaël Cuevas, and he is a character full of contrasts, discreet yet highly acclaimed on the French and Andalusian underground scene. He has released some great tracks on labels such as Perchépolis, Forsaken Cell, and NFEREE Records. His unique style is at the crossroads between deep techno, liquid, breakbeat, bass music and experimental music infused with dub sounds and sometimes raw accents. UK-based producer and DJ, BinaryFunction, is no novice to the scene. 
Moving on from Manchester, he relocated to the island of Mauritius in 1991, where he lived for 12 years. He began producing music from 1995 onwards, and took part in a DMC competition coming first. He began DJ’ing on the island of Mauritius the minute he arrived and quickly built a reputation as the first underground DJ on the island. His Acid House influences took over and he began DJing in most of the islands biggest clubs, leading him to warm up for French legend Laurent Garnier in 1998 on the neighbouring island Reunion. Since 2004 BinaryFunction returned to his hometown of Manchester and has been honing his production craft and DJing skills, waiting for the opportune moment to release his music.
BinaryFunction has recently graduated from Mathew Jonson's Freedom Engine Academy.
