Abstruse v.10 mixed by Grim Hellhound

In October of 2021 I was given the opportunity to craft a 30 minute mix for Rene LaVice's pivotal drum and bass mix show on the UK's legendary BBC Radio 1. Somewhat unlike my other mixes I decided to take this one in a deep future funk direction with much less emphasis on dancefloor tunes. The final product was hopefully something that sounded good on the radio and also appealed to a wide variety of forward thinking listeners. 

It's a quick one for sure...and I hope you enjoy!

The Warp Records Bleep × takeover marked the last event at our pop-up shop in Dalston. Mira Calix, Plaid and Special Request all delivered sets that were energetic, playful and ultimately; incredibly fun. This mix from Plaid starts from the off at 100% and stays there till the end. From the first kickdrum to the final squelch, this is a constant roller bursting with heart palpitating energy.  60 minutes of pure vibrancy with a breakbeat or two thrown in for good measure - fitting for a final big blow out!

No frills or faff about this set, just banger after glorious banger from Warp kingpins.

Moscow resident Torn crosses over from his Drum and Bass releases for Samurai Music with the Forsaken EP on Horo - 4 tracks of experimental Techno that continue the progression of the Grey Area sound. His contribution to the Horo Vision Podcast series is a heavy dose of blurred Grey Area, Techno and Ambient with a large chunk of the mix being his own productions. Torn is also part of the Vermisst trio alongside Sam KDC and Korse who have their debut EP Zerfall out on Horo.

b10burd3n hails from Sacramento, CA and is the Co-Founder of the Bass Music Collective Tech-Noid Systems. She started her DJ career in the dark and heavy dnb era of 2004. 

Since those early days she's played shows on several different stations; dnbradio.com, technodnb.com and jungletrain.net. 

Various influences can be felt in her sets, ranging from the dark and brooding sounds of Industrial and Metal to the flowing and syncopated rhythms of DnB and Techno. Ever evolving her style, she is always on the lookout for the newest tunes to bring to the masses.
