The brothers Ruben (1987) and Jente Bootsman (1990) were born in a small town called ‘Nieuwe Niedorp’ in The Netherlands.  At home they grew up with a great variety of music; all the great jazz, soul and funk artists were played. Thanks to their rich musical background, they discovered their interest in music at a young age and started practicing on a daily base. Both started as solo artists with different styles, Ruben was the first to discover the art of DJing, not much later Jente joined and the brothers decided to merge their sound into a rhythmical fuse of tech-house with an approachable twist. 

What began as a hobby of two down-to-earth Dutch brothers, turned into their biggest passion. Bootsmen grew to be a well-known DJ duo in their hometown region with a very compelling sound and great energy. Their motivation is noticed by everyone because of their power and interaction while DJing. 

Ever since Ruben and Jente joined forces, they have been a strong and successful duo in The Netherlands. In 2010 they won the “Zandstock DJ Contest” and since then, they have performed at many events and venues, such as the Dirty Dutch events, Bloomingdale, Jimmy Woo, Ziggo Dome, Indian Summer Festival, Outdoor Stereo Festival, the Heineken Music Hall and the Amsterdam Dance Event. As a continuation of their successful start in different venues, it’s expected that they will become an even stronger force.

With their first release ‘Drop’ on Spanish label Zoombeats, Bootsmen has brought their noticeable Dutch sound to the international audience.

In 2014 Bootsmen had a successful year; the duo performed at big venues in home country the Netherlands and even had an international gig at the new Cavalli Lounge in Ibiza. Bootsmen also performed at ADE’14 and performed with GLOWINTHEDARK for Serious Request. 

After all those gigs which were an amazing experience for Bootsmen and the public, they released their Original Dutch Dub of the hit single ‘Mama Yo’ by
international artist Yolanda Be Cool on a remix package on Beatport. Besides, the DJ duo keeps bringing their unique mash-ups that can be found on their SoundCloud and is about to release their new single on
GLOWINTHEDARK’s new label LightState Music, where artists such as Fatman Scoop, Snoop Dogg and GLOWINTHEDARK themselves have released their music; proof that 2015 will be a busy year for Bootsmen! 

As they previously stated, for them, DJing is not about gaining popularity; it’s about creating unforgettable moments, sharing their passion for music, but most of all do what they love.
