My entry for SPEEDCOMP 60 - Make a track in only 30 minutes using the ten samples provided for download on the event page on the night.
Any audio software is welcome to use to make your track. Make anything you like - no genres or approaches are out of bounds.
Maximum length of your track needs to be 4 minutes.
After 30 minutes please stop arranging your Speedcomp entry and listen back for a rough mixdown and render. There is no point using more than 30 minutes as this exists to see what one can do with a strict deadline to finalise a musical composition. There are no winners in Speedcomp.

From Brisbane, Australia Spinecode began DJ'ing professionally in 2005. The vast majority of that time has seen himself focused within the worldwide Frenchcore movement. He has performed at some of the hardest events in Australia and has supported countless of the biggest names within the hardcore industry. He has appeared on labels such as GGM/DengDeng, Qcore/Refusion, No Sleep Til’ Bedtime and ENDE Records.

In 2017 Spinecode joined forces with DJ Breadmaker to form Souls in Kaos. Playing supports for such names as The Satan, Paul Elstak and Sefa and gracing local stages such as Hard Island Australia and Masif in Sydney. In 2019 they traveled to Croatia to play a number of sets for the Hard Island Festival. Securing a dream for them both just in time before the madness of the pandemic stopped all momentum in it’s tracks. After releasing the track “Body is a Nightmare” on Frenchkickz Records in 2020 the duo parted ways on friendly terms during the quiet times of the sickness.

Going solo again in 2024, after some successful shows for Ignite (feat. MC support from Da Mouth of Madness) Brisbane, Renegade Playground and 4ZZZ radio, Spinecode turned his skills back toward the studio to punch out some further mayhem after a hiatus to regroup and re-ground. He has recently joined forces with Carnyx to found Cosmic SkullCracker Records. The mission stays the same. Razor sharp and ready to roll heads.

Jesús Bellota was born in Spain. He studied Law and an MBA in Birminghan University, United Kingdon. He also did studies at Professional Pioneer DJ  player at INTED Elecronic Music School, Madrid. He began his profesional career as residente DJ in Club Epoka, Madrid in 2.016.  His sets create a unique ambiance with a powerful and well-rounded sound; invoking  house, tech house, techno ... references without forgetting other vanguard tones.

This December, he delivers Fragments 2.0, a major follow-up to the original Fragments project. The new release features remixes from @user-449697299, @Psidream, @quoonemusic, @Omneum, @brukout_ca, @iconsdnb, the-mind-hackers, @djNORTY, @YASUKI1214, @d0shi-music, and @diodeofficial— each reinterpreting tracks from State of Control through their own lens, spanning deep, dark, and high-energy variations of drum and bass. Like its predecessor, which showcased Exile, YASUKI, Xtinctor, Lunatronic, AGRO, Irontype, and JRace & Albert White, Fragments 2.0 continues NBC9’s vision of connecting global artists through shared sonic experimentation.

As the head of Embassy 9 Recordings, NBC9 has created a home for his own output as well as a space for collaborators to explore forward-thinking drum and bass. His productions are designed with a dual purpose: to resonate in personal listening settings and to hit with power on dancefloors.

Before his return to drum and bass, NBC9 built an underground reputation under the name Influenza in the early 2000s nu skool breakbeat scene. Releases on Pure Funk, Illeven Eleven, Sponge, and Epidemic reached audiences across North America and the UK, with his music played in iconic venues such as Fabric London.

Two decades on, NBC9 stands with more clarity and intent than ever, blending experience with innovation to drive a sound that continues to evolve.
