"KR$CHN & Joan Of Art come to us today with their original track Coming Down. There are so many different styles mashed into one, it makes for a very unique and catchy track. Who are the artists though? KR$CHN is from Chicago, and likes to produce house, hip-hop, trap, and dubstep. What a combo, right? As for Joan Of Art (Saliou Seck), he hails from Nantes, France. Seck only defines the music he likes to produce as “Electronic and Urban Dance Music”.

Regardless of where they come from, they found each other, and gave us a piece of electro-trap magic. The track starts out very dream like, and progresses with a soft bubbly synth. All of a sudden, a man says, “Bounce”, and the feel of the track changes from dreamy, to upbeat electro-trap like. But wait there’s more, in the second break, the soft synth transforms into a crunchy sound, and then back again. Although it sounds pretty strange, you’ll really want to hear it for yourself. This is going to be the last song in our live sets for the next year.

My long time buddy @realDJPAIGE brought this idea up to me one day and I couldn't resist.  Being an 80's baby and having older siblings this track was a staple in my house .

Below you'll find some fun facts about some of the lyrics to "Land Down Under" which before I did some research made no sense to me.

FUN FACTS:

Fried out Kombi : a broken-down van.  It came from the VW Kombivan which was very popular in the '60s and early '70s, especially with surfers and hippies.

Head full of Zombie : Zombie was a particularly strong batch of marijuana which was floating around Australia for a long time. People called it "Zombie Grass."

Vegemite Sandwich : Vegemite is a fermented yeast spread that is pretty much a national institution in Australia. 

Regarding the lyrics, "Where beer does flow, and men chunder..." Chunder is Aussie slang meaning to vomit.

Deep Shoq is a household name in the Lithuanian urban –electronic beat scene. Coming from a Baltic background, he encompasses various styles, one of future beats, contemporary electronica, soul, bass music and groove based on jazzy chords (hip-hop and R&B music is also an influence.)

With early, illustrious influences that range from classical, neo-soul, hiphop, he started messing around with production and rap in 2005, pursuing a jazzy, hiphop tip, before emerging as a solo artist and pursuing the electronica and future side of beats. Besides Lithuanian compilations, recent releases under international labels such as Project Mooncircle, and Shimmy Records have put him on the map.

Deep Shoq - Owe U One

The All Good Funk Alliance drop a new EP featuring 4 different styles of funk for their
Super Hi-Fi label. “Make it Go-Go” featuring Big Tony of Trouble Funk has that classic DC Go-
Go sound but updated for the 2000’s. It's full of clanking percussion, horn blasts, and funky
synths making for a dope mid-tempo jam.
“Do Work” featuring Mustafa Akbar, goes for that Motown sound but updated in that
Mayer Hawthorne meets Mark Ronson way. This one is really catchy and you will find yourself
singing along to it.
“Funk This Jam” featuring Soul Suit is classic AGFA. A funky mid-tempo number that
feels like something that they would have put out on Funk Weapons back in the day. It's got call
and response vocals and insane breakdowns. Classic AGFA!
Finally we have “On - Off Boogie”. This nu-disco funk jam has got some squawky talk
box, funky beats, and really intricate synth work. It leans more on AGFA's “boogie funk” style
which rounds out this EP perfectly.
