Commodore74 is an Electro Punk / Synthwave music project created by the Welsh/Colombian musician Daniel G Jones (Danny Dodge, Bombalacran, Two Way Analog, Field Trip To The Moon, Willem DaJones) - that draws inspiration from the raw energy and DIY ethos of punk and the minimalistic and catchy melodies of Newwave. As usual with Jones's music projects, Commodore74 also has an analogue-based approach when it comes to recording; using 4 track tape recorders and 1/2 inch reel-to-teel machines to capture the greatness of valve amplifiers and bring out the richness and crudeness of analogue synths, blending it all in the digital realm. Commodore74 creates a distinctive sound that blends vintage sounds of analogue synthesizers, drum machines combined with real drum beats, and melodic and atmospheric guitar pedal effects. Nostalgic yet forward-thinking sound that is both danceable and introspective. Through Commodore74, the listener is transported to a sonic landscape that can be raw and reflective but at the same time warm and energetic.
