Eclectic Electronic Soundscapes -
It's 2023 and I'm taking stock this year and seeing how far I've come on my sonic journey, especially as it's my 10th Anniversary year.
To make sure that I'm giving space for as many artists as possible and to try and discover new one's, Feminatronic will be focussing on Artists alphabetically throughout the year on all platforms.

Electronic new wave husband and wife team, Liberty Valentine and Random Stoddard met while both performing in a theatre production in Sydney and have spent the following years flourishing in film, art and music. Drawing upon their mutual love of Gainsbourg, early 80s synth pop and chillcore folk, they joined creative forces as the audacious indie duo The Freaks in Love.  

Their propelling stage presence and potent arrangements is the essence of their magic.  After writing and recording in Paris they gravitated to the artistic hub of the San Fernando valley, Los Angeles, and are now releasing their debut 4 track EP 'Yee Yaa'.

In 2015 they released “Feels Like it Should” with GT and Wildfire on Vicious Records, which has clocked up over 6+ millions Spotify streams worldwide.

Clouded Faces

Tapesongs is the second of two crucial Joan La Barbara reissues on Arc Light Editions, following Voice Is The Original Instrument (ALE005). Originally released in 1977, Tapesongs makes use of early electronics, and multi-tracked tape techniques to manipulate La Barbara’s signature extended vocal techniques.

The original artwork is an incredible shot: Joan buried to her neck in reel to reel tape. It includes two essential pieces: John Cage’s Solo For Voice 45, and a burning take-down of Cathy Berberian in “Cathing”.
