Mix Birgit Fischer Vocals. "All my colours"

Berlin 1999. One of my wildest dreams has come true and gave birth to another. Our major record deal with the Rammstein label "motor music" with my very own band "motorsheep" led us to a beautiful cooperation with the Berlin based soundtrack composer/producer Johnny Klimek and the Swiss composer Niki Reiser. I was too excited, so misbehaved then and offended Johnny without without purpose while recording, as I found the chorus too predictable and joked about the producers name, too. Oo ... bad girl. Hardly ever clean those days. One day the director and actor Dani Levi came into the studio to see how his soundtrack was going. Unfortunately I was exactly then vocally experimenting to give this song a shouting vocal choire, so I was a littlle experimenting, and everyone was laughing out loud about those weird sounds coming out of my mouth. He was amused. I was embarrased, but art is a high good and needs new steps out of the comfort zone. Never mind, this song was in the last minute kicked from the album as the amazing Guano Apes suddenly reappeared. I still love it much and if any one likes it, too, I am happy :)
Another song later (Dust War) became part of the Bavarian Filmmusik Preis 1999 with Niki Reiser ...

Marlene und der Mondscheinkoffer

Eine Ewigkeit wartet sie schon auf diesen Tag – und heute ist es soweit!
Die kleine Marlene traut sich endlich in den großen alten Paternoster.
Hopp – mutig springt das Mädchen in eine der abwärts rotierenden Holzkabinen, zieht fix ihre Kniestrümpfe wieder hoch und fährt und fährt.
Was für ein Abenteuer, sich hier einfach alleine einzuschleichen! 
Ob da ganz oben wohl die Welt auf dem Kopf steht? Oder die Kabine?

Knarzend rattert der Aufzug mit ihr durch die verlassenen Etagen und ächzt, als würde er sich über seine müden Gelenke beschweren.  
Die Kleine genießt die stoische Gleichförmigkeit und wird ganz ruhig. 
Sie schließt ihre Augen, um auch ja nichts zu verpassen von diesem einzigartigen Erlebnis. Ausatmen. War das ihr Atem? 

Hinter dem Wendepunkt im Kellergewölbe fängt das Licht an zu flackern. 
Plötzlich entdeckt sie neben sich einen Koffer, der im Dunkeln leuchtet. 
„Ein Mondscheinkoffer!“ 
Der Kirschlolli fällt ihr aus dem offenen Mund und verschwindet ins Nichts. 
Ungeduldig geht sie in die Hocke und öffnet die rostigen Schnallen. Klack, klack.
Plötzlich erstarrt sie vor Schreck: Der staubige Koffer atmet, ja, er leuchtet sogar im Rhythmus ihres eigenen Herzschlags! 
Für den Bruchteil einer Sekunde glaubt Marlene, sie könne "Sterne sehen". Noch während sie den brüchigen Lederdeckel hebt, ertönt leise eine seltsam-schöne Musik … 
So hat sie Musik noch nie gehört. 

Was ist das? Fantasie-Instrumente? Klingt nach Zukunft. Diese Frauenstimme kommt ihr irgendwie bekannt vor. Marlene möchte tanzen, muss aber gebannt zuhören. 
Nach fünf Stücken erklingt "Die Glasprinzessin". Kurz vor Ende des Märchens bleibt plötzlich der Paternoster zwischen zwei Stockwerken stehen.
Ein Wesen, halb Mann, halb Frau, beugt sich lächelnd herab:
„Voilà!" reicht er ihr ihren verlorenen Lolli.
Mit gespenstischer Selbstverständlichkeit nimmt die Gestalt sie auf eine Art an die Hand, als würde Marlene längst erwartet werden.
Mit brennender Neugierde, aber auch vollem Vertrauen folgt sie dem Frauenmann ins Unbekannte.
Wieso steht da auf Ihrem Hemd eigentlich „Columbia“? 
„Ach, das – das ist eine lange Geschichte. Ich will dir alles erklären, mein Liebes. Komm erstmal in Ruhe an.“
Genauso fühlt sie sich auch. Angekommen. "Für immer" zu Hause.
Die Kleine wird in eine Welt eingesogen, die sie kennt: die Welt ihrer Träume und Fantasien. 
Ihre Heimat ist ein echtes Märchen.
Sie wünscht sich sehnlichst, eines Tages eine richtige "Frau von Welt" zu werden. 

Viele Jahre später hat die große Marlene sich zu einer außergewöhnlichen Sängerin entwickelt.
Ihre Zuhörer berichten immer wieder von diesem eigenartigen Schimmern, wenn sie singt. 
Es ist, als ob sie von innen heraus strahlt. Davon will sie allerdings gar nichts wissen. Sie liebt es einfach, die Welt "von oben" zu betrachten und daraus Musik zu machen. 
Manchmal versteckt sie aus Spaß zauberhafte Songs in einem Koffer, der dann an einem entlegenen Ort wartet, um von ausgesuchten Neuankömmlingen entdeckt zu werden …

Dream and dance. Here I would like to share with you a slightly surreal electronic dance track from the EP "Marlene und der Mondscheinkoffer". I know, this is definitely no mainstream music, to me it has the enchantment of disturbing beauty. Could you imagine to sing half the night for just a few seconds of perfection? I know no word of Bulgarian, yet I got a taste ... when I was singing more than 20 multiple vocal tracks and harmonies on top of another in this magical "Bulgarian voices" style of Trio Bulgarka. Again and again the producer wanted me to sing them till they all exactly fit in a timeless ethnic "throaty" sound inspired by "Les Mysteres des Voixes Bulgares".

Always On My Mind. Witty music.

When I was a very little child, I was always singing, wherever I was, whatever happened, on the street, when noone looked at me like I was crazy, even later at school when I forgot myself. My beloved and strictly religious Granny Helga Becker always took me to church where I learned to sound fully and fell in love with the greatness and openness of vocals even more. 
Now after decades of doing studio work I now have the allowance to put some of the music where I was blessed to participate in out into the world! Often I was asked if people could join in the recordings. No, it would disturb. And mentioning ones own name is not state of the art when you are a paid professional who serves a certain company to help them get attention. So usually I was asked to keep it secret, which I did. 
It fills my heart with pride to open up the treasure chest of the most wonderful songs that were so far hidden in my the digital archives and that are now seeing the daylight. I hope some people might like a few of them as much as I do.

One dear so far nameless friend.

Sister Suicide

This song was written for a dear beloved friend who lost her believe in herself and in life. At that point she only wanted to die because of an upcoming trauma from her early past. I felt the urge of lifting her up and taking her by my hand, back into her own strength. Here is a part of my acoustic diary from that time.
