My age-old demoscene alter ego "Power of Creation" created two albums. This is my second album, rather randomly called "3rd Floor". The songs are created in Impulse Tracker and most samples are found on sample compilations or in songs from artists I love(d).

Spiteful Experiments' inspiration was the vocal "aaahh" sound being played throughout the song. I found a couple of more voice samples from an old movie that I thought sounded cool and whipped together this tune.

Veronica was created to impress my girlfriend at the time, aptly named "Veronica". The song was completed without any name or thought of using the word "Veronica" in it, but I was young and foolish and thought this would impress her. So I sat in my boy's room and whispered her name into a microphone and placed it at strategic places within the song.

Below the Surface has a liquid feel to it due to the xylophone lead used throughout the tune, which explains the name.

Horizon's melody and arrangement is created by my father, Sverre Ulsberg, under the original Norwegian name "Frihet". We sat together a couple of evenings and arranged this together. I think it came out okay.

Beveled Edges is a simple trance tune created on a piano-lead in the break in the middle of the song and with a start and end that fills it up with a compress-delay-xylophonic-ish sound.

Blood is the first of a three-part tune series, being followed by Sweat and Tears, all using the same samples. Blood is a a trancy house tune fit for its time, but it sounds rather dated now.

As all the other tunes on Beyond Fantasy, Blood was created in Impulse Tracker on MS DOS.

Out of Range is an orchestral trance tune I made after falling in love with a violin pluck sample and creating what I thought was a pretty rad baseline. Piling violin and guitar leads and beats on top of that and this is what you get.

Helium is a light-hearted, short dance tune. I hope it lifts you up the way it did with me when I made it!

Soaked in Orange is a lighthearted jazzy tune I conjured based on some samples that inspired me to create something a bit different from the usual EDM stuff I do.

Soluble Temper is a rather randomly named song (naming is the hardest thing in both composing and programming) created over a blippy background lead, accompanied by a sliding guitar àla ATB's signature.

As with all songs on the album, this tune is created in Impulse Tracker 2.14 on MS DOS.

Tears is the final of a three-part tune series starting with Blood, followed by Sweat and ending with Tears, all using the same samples. Tears is a mellow trance tune with a stereotypical blip lead instrument that some people might find catchy.

As all the other tunes on Beyond Fantasy, Sweat was created in Impulse Tracker on MS-DOS.

You could call the fast-paced lead my signature, because it's in almost all my songs, including this one. I can't really explain the title – it's just a title.

Portentous Aid is a stupidly named tune that I'm rather pleased with. It's a trance tune with a lead guitar alike ATB's signature leads; I, however, created this tune before ever listening to ATB, which I thought was cool in 1997 or whenever this was created.

Manhattan was created not long after a school trip to New York. Finding great instrument samples in a sample pack inspired me to create something more orchestral and less electronic.

Bitbear is Asbjørn Ulsberg's tone-hammering, beat-juggling and demoscene participating alter ego.

Bitbear started fiddling with music in Pro Tracker on the Amiga 500 in the early 90's. But first when he got his hands on Scream Tracker and Fast Tracker on a PC, he started producing "real" music under the alias "Power of Creation".

He created two albums and submitted songs to various demoscene competitions throughout the 90's until he put his musical career on the shelf until it was rebooted in 2012 by entering the Kindergarden 2012 Dance Music Competition under the new-found alias Bitbear.
