On the bright and early morning of August 12th, 2023, over 1,000 creatives began their 24-hour work session that resulted in 558 unique songs and 66 album covers. Musicians bounced out stems for each other and shared samples, visual artists scoured the Internet for fonts and graphics, and everyone excitedly buzzed about what would come of it all. The final result? 45 of the most outstanding, creative, and genuine tracks our corner of the digital world has to offer—with an equally beautiful album cover to match.

The real enrichment lies in the act of creation. A piece of art does not have to be forward-thinking or never-seen-before, nor does it have to be better than the last; it simply has to be. To create something without worry of what others might think, to have fun with your work, is one of the greatest things this world has to offer—digital or otherwise.

All proceeds from All Nighter Vol. 8 will be going to Out & Equal, an organization dedicated to workplace equality for LGBTQ+ individuals.

As submissions roll in, the day passes in the blink of an eye. Musicians put their final touches on their songs, passing around the master file for one final polish from all collaborators. Visual artists eagerly await for the few final minutes of their render to pass with no issues. All participants take one big, deep breath as they upload their files and hit "Submit". Out of 562 music submissions and 71 art submissions, 45 shining tracks and one cover design were selected and organized with care into one final album. It captures a glimpse of the evolving creativity not just of our community, but of creatives everywhere.

First and foremost, All Nighter is about joy; the payoff is well worth it, but the purpose is in the process. It's so much more than making a song or cover art with a friend—it's human connection. It's learning how to push yourself beyond your creative limits. It's taking pride in your hard work. It's meeting new people who happen to love the same musicians and artists as you. Creating what makes you happy is a joy that keeps the wheels of creativity turning; we all owe it to ourselves to love what we make, and make what we love.

All proceeds from All Nighter, Vol. 9 will be donated to the National Alliance for Eating Disorders, a charity that provides referrals, education, and support to individuals experiencing eating disorders and their loved ones.

This song was actually inspired by a conversation I had with Voljum around when minus1 was released a year or so ago. He suggested me I should try to do a song purely by sampling other songs, not even adding drums no nothing. I didn't go fully in that direction (there's people like O-Prime Delta who kill it in that style) but regardless i tried to push my chopping style into the extreme, and this is the result
