Started my true journey as a guitarist playing in  bands hardcore, metal, punk, death metal; Next 2 Nothing, Bloodpact, Premonitions of War, Disconnected, and formally Mutilatred & Vela Pulsar.
But, for a while (during these bands) I have begun experimenting with the melding of several genres and utilizing different effects, plus I enjoy to lengthen tracks and manipulate them until it becomes another piece of music entirely.

Fat Wreck Chords is an indie label co-founded in San Francisco by NOFX frontman Fat Mike (Michael Burkett) and Erin Kelly-Burkett, in 1990. The first wave of bands signed to FAT (No Use For A Name, NOFX, Propagandhi, Lagwagon, and more) shaped what became known as the Fat Wreck sound. FAT continues to be an artist-friendly label and has a unique business model of signing bands to one record deals. The instrumental post-rock ambience of Unwed Sailor has been guided by the vision of Johnathon Ford since its inception in 1998. He formed Unwed Sailor in Seattle and has since been based in other cities including Chicago, Tulsa, and New Orleans.
Ford has leapt in a myriad of instrumental directions, from angular post-rock rhythms, to dreamy shoegaze soundscapes, to ambient folk. Through these directions, all of Unwed Sailor’s albums share a certain melodic sensibility, a flavor that’s undeniably Ford’s, yet each its own unique place in creating the sound and vision of Unwed Sailor.
