This arrangement is a Tribute to the composer John Murphy  and emphasises the emotional impressions, as seen from high up in the atmosphere, of the Sun rising behind earth.
I used electronic sounds and effects behind the the electric piano, guitar and voices.
Sheet music from Musicnotes for piano, basic arrangement by Laurie Théberge and rearranged to accomodate sounds, effects and voices.

Sunshine - (Adagio in D minor- Composed by John Murphy)

This song follows the thoughts of the protagonist who goes through an abstruse day -- from rambunctious work colleagues a room over to thoughts of love far away in a world that seems forgiving yet un-reflective. Culminating in retroactive thought about purpose and place in the world, as well as questioning who 'teaches the world', the idea is that the teacher and colleagues could be, somehow, taught to understand what the protagonist evokes -- feelings, sentiments, morals, or otherwise.

For those of you who haven't discovered Orlando "The Don" Lund, here's your opportunity.  Orlando is a serious pro, having built a career as a writer, multi instrumentalist and producer in London during the '90s Soul Funk era, leading and creating with some of the finest contemporary jazz and funk musicians in Europe. Orlando approached me about playing on a tune I had released here, What the Funk, quickly sending 5 tasty tracks to me - a solid grooving bass line, a congas line, two rhythm guitar tracks and a George Benson style guitar solo.  I've worked them all in here, adding them to all my keyboard parts, creating some sweet soul jazz for your listening pleasure. Jazz/Fusion keyboard player, composer and producer.  Marketing, advertising, publishing and sales career.  Originally from Chicago, where I developed a strong appreciation for the blues and classical, and moved to New York, where jazz and the fine arts are so deep.  Key musical influences include Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Zawinul and Weather Report, Chick Corea and Return to Forever, John McLaughlin and the Mahivishnu Orchestra, Stanley Clarke, Scott Henderson and Tribal Tech, Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer, Mike Stern, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Emily Remler, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Larry Young, Buddy Guy, Santana and Earth Wind & Fire.
