Amassing almost a dozen EPs and an impressive album debut all within three years, the production powerhouse that is Jordon Saxton finally hits home on Figure. While developing various sonic identities at once, his first outing for the label as Viers is a strictly no-nonsense techno affair.

This already becomes apparent on Lain, which carefully navigates with sonar bleeps and scanner sweeps through of nebula richly detailed textures. Infornography is muffled in thick murk, its metallic synths unceasingly chipping away at rocks of rumbling bass. On the flip Viers changes his game yet again, crafting a beautifully fluorescent and dubbed out loop, making RE-L pulse just as gently as it is booming. Finally Protocol’s militant groove closes things out on a tough note. Hammering kicks and cleverly twisted tribal percussion make this one a nasty surprise to drop during peak time.

No matter what distinct mood or moment Viers is trying his hand at, across this EP he effortlessly nails them all. You will be hard-pressed to find the variety and inventiveness of modern british techno expressed more aptly anywhere else than here.

Voici le set joué au Festival Afrik'O'Bendy à Logonna-Daoulas (29).
J'avais prévu de débuter par des rythmes en provenance de toute l'Afrique mais Chapter24 puis Kyuko ont tellement enflammé le maquis que la marmite était bouillante. Je me suis donc adapté et joué un peu plus vite et plus fort!!!
C'était grandiose!
Merci aux orgas de m’avoir invité! Merci au public d'avoir dansé, dansé, danséééééééééé!
Nous devions mettre le feu, je pense que c’est chose faite!
Désolé pour les personnes qui ont mis beaucoup de temps à atterrir après ces moments de folie...

What started as a live stream at Moscow’s Mutabor on 3rd May 2020, has morphed into the first instalment of a new digital compilation series on трип: Hot Steel.

The concept is simple: trip head Nina Kraviz announces the stream date and sends out a call to artists for their unreleased work to oidodekraviz@gmail.com, all genres are welcome. After the stream takes place, the favourite tracks are signed and a few weeks later Hot Steel is released. 

To kick off the series, Hot Steel features newcomers, fresh talent and already established artists from all over the world: from New Zealand to Spain, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Poland to the US and Canada, but also Russia, France, the Netherlands and Georgia. 

Hot Steel will be released on 19th June to join Bandcamp in their commitment on that day and give 100% of the sales from the compilation to NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
