Vegim, of Prishtina-Kosovo, makes his second return on Prescribed Trax imprint following a successful label debut of his “100 KW EP”. Vegim continues to show his mastery of industrial sounds with three originals complimented with remixes by Stephen Thrasher of Toronto – Canada, and Darmec (Blue Monkey Records Label Boss) of UK.

Dax Phase (Original) builds upon sci-fi synth sounds with the occasional dark tones. This combination of interstellar like synths, melodic rhythms, and African infused percussion give it a futuristic tribal feel.

For this episode and for the followings, I wanted to give the floor to some artists I admire and respect a lot. I believe everyone has ideas, a voice, opinions they want to fight for. I believe we can aspire for a better future world through music. Today, I have invited @aborzychto record a Mixing for a Cause podcast.

MFC 12 : Alex Borzych – The Dregs Of Society 

Alex began her musical journey at the age of 8 as a violinist and playing guitar since she was 15. After many years in
Montreal’s psychedelic trance scene, her journey towards techno began when she started collecting tracks during
her time in nursing school. Her trademark; high energy, spikes of 90’s techno. Alex’s style is born deep in the crate where she digs up her Belgian/Polish Roots and many travels. Having played Illusion Festival, the SATosphere & Salon Daomé, MTL's
techno scene is familiar with Alex's sound. She also played alongside acts like Stephanie Sykes & VTSS in Self-produced events at Le Livart & Entrepôts Dominion. She presently is working on music production with goals set to release her debut EP in the coming year and a scheduled single track release in early 2021. Stay tuned & make sure to wear proper kicks.

Today she wanted to raise awareness about mental health, especially during those hard times we are going through. 

Alex: “Because of the second wave of Covid-19, there is a huge increase of homelessness, poverty, suicide, and drug addiction. The homelessness population in just Montréal has doubled to 6,000 in the last six months amid the ongoing pandemic. On a bigger scale, approximately one-third of the global population currently resides under some form of lockdown or quarantine. Suicide rates, at a population-level, are extremely sensitive to macroeconomic indicators, particularly unemployment. Homelessness and fragile mental health are life or death issues during a Covid-19 and an economic recession. Low income and middle-class workers especially hit hard due to job losses from restaurant, bar and entertainment industry shutdowns and permanent closures.”

After their first joint venture crystallized in the form of a remix by Toni for one of Oliver’s tracks, Berliner Toni Dextor releases his first full EP on Adroit Recordings, with Deutschmann on remix duties.

‚Complex' spells trouble from the get go: heavy drums, a dynamic, straightforward bassline and a simple yet effective melody captivate instantly, showcasing Toni’s ability to produce dancefloor anthems. 'Type X' follows in the same vein, albeit a bit on the more restrained side. It unfolds confidently into another heavy hitter perfect for peak time. 'Type A', on the other hand, offers a more explorative groove, firmly set atop a winding bassline and armed with similarly weighty drums. Oliver Deutschmann takes on 'Type X', adding more suspense via brooding pads and razor-sharp cymbal crashes, making for a less aggressive yet still compelling arrangement.
