About two weeks ago I got a lovely written request from Yelena to play perussion for her interpretation of Sandy Denny's Fotheringhay and to mix it. I never played on such genre before but the music cought me with it's sentimental feeling. The challenge of discovering new worlds (to me, of course;)) appealed me to try it and as a first "dive-in" I mixed her original recording to see what's possible. The more I listened to the music the more I fell in love with the melancolic mood.

After mixing the previous version I tried to support the song's character with some percussion and (in consultation with Yelena) to develop a bass and a strings arrangement. Finally the additions felt naturally and organic to me and I was happy she liked it too.

Some time ago I made a recording as a speaker for a phone company to advertise their products. The given text was so absurd that the recording engineer and me bubbled over with laughter ...

Someday I rediscovered the recording and used some phrases as a remembrance of this *milestone* of my musical career ;)

I always wanted to make a sonic companion to the last song Bitzone, Frawstakwa, and I made together, “What Difference Does It Make.” I finally got my chance. This one came together real fast. Bitzone sent me a raw beat, I asked Frawstakwa to kick it off, and then I made some arrangement adjustments and laid down my lyrics and vocals based on Frawstakwa’s. Bitzone then finished it up and bada-boom, gotta move, gotta shake!

Massive thanks to Frawstakwa for bringing the fresh ideas and original verse and chorus vocals. And big thanks to Bitzone for always make the tracks more vivid than I could imagine. 

May there always be at least a little time to bounce in your week!
