Louise Chen has been cutting her teeth as a DJ and promoter since the start of the 10s and has steadily been building her reputation as a keen record digger and club DJ with impeccable timing.

The Taiwanese-French artist uses her radio shows on NTS, The Lot and Rinse France to showcase the breadth of her taste, deploying a 'soul tearjerkers' special here and a 100 per cent gospel set there, as well as inviting guests like Mafalda and The Patchouli Brothers.

As she showed us last year, she brings only the finest-quality heat to the club with sets that invigorate dancefloors and radiate pure energy. The same goes for her tracks, as her burgeoning production career testifies.

Ahu is a singer, songwriter and DJ, an RBMA alumni, she has written and sung songs with Flying Lotus ( RobertaFlack ), Mr. Beatnick, Emanative, Miles Bonny, Groovemanspot and many more. She has released her own single “To:Love” which is produced by Paul White and Dimlite also supported by Thom Yorke. As a dj Ahu played at festivals like Barcelona Sonar Festival, Southern Soul Festival, Jazzystan, Brainfeeder and clubs like Plastic People, Boiler Room London, Baltic Room, East Village, Trinity, Nectar and Gilles Peterson’s World Wide Awards. Her track Turn The Lights On used by Prada, on Ava DuVernay’s The Door for Women's Rights. In 2019 her single "Go" came out from Sony Music. Her latest EP, Platonic is released in 2020 and she has a monthly show called "Hour of Light" on WWFM.

One strong influence on Local Talk is of course jazz, in any shape or form. So on our new '-ish' compilation series we thought we begin here...Jazz-ish.

The compilation is full of personal favorite jams from Local Talk. But some tracks stand out a little extra. Kai Alce's melodic remix of Munk is a personal fave and a true beauty, Kaidi Tatham's mix of Coflo is proper UK jazz-fusion boogie (ish.), Dean Zepherin's 'Blue Moon' is a classy jazz-funk number and Ron Trent's remix of Kyoto Jazz Sextet is as deep-jazz as it gets.
