Every great album needs a solid remix EP! That’s what Niconé thought to himself after the recent release of his critically acclaimed ‘Let Love Begin’ longplayer. Thus he invited friends and artists he admires alike to reinterpret some of the highlights of the album. The results are as versatile as they are stunning.	 

Big-room piano work-out ‘Burnhain’ gets the treatment by three heavyweights of the scene. England’s Ejeca has been causing quite a stir with his signature mix of classic Jersey house and UK bass elements. Here, he turns in a tasteful mix of high-pitched vocals, which focuses on dub chords rather than the original’s piano melody. Teenage Mutants opts for the no nonsense approach as he delivers a straight house banger of driving hats and a bass-line to die for, while Mat.Joe chop up the piano hook and loop it over a new percussive skeleton. 	

SIS’s remix of ‘Querido’ is an epic twelve minute long journey that takes the original’s vocals into darker, drugged-out territories. Psychedelic! Similarly, Gunjah goes all out on his dramatic synth interpretation of ‘Let Love Begin’, which seems made with Ibiza closing parties in mind. Rampue’s version of ‘Candelaria’ is, in contrast, crafted for dark winter days as lots of melancholia runs through the veins of the track. Of course, Niconé was keen to turn in a remix himself and enlisted his good friend Philip Bader to give him a hand. The resulting reinterpretation of ‘Candelaria’ is an out-and-out tech house monster made for the peaktime.

MÖWE is a recently founded project by the Vienna based artists Mel and Clemens, who previously played together in the band Mary lost her Pathos. While the duo’s indie roots still shine through in the song writing, MÖWE’s sound is largely electronic and best described as melodious and emotionally uplifting. Here, on SVT119, they present two of their outstanding productions, while Björn Störig contributes a beefy remix. 	

The title track ‘Inside’ focuses on harmonic piano and guitar hooks that float over a bouncing beat and crisp percussion. As the duo’s heartbreakingly beautiful vocals climax in a bass-driven chorus, we find ourselves lost in a sea of bewitching sound. ‘Seven Days’ is then introduced by delayed vox and drops into an airy arrangement backed-up by Mel and Clem’s longing voices. Stunning! Lastly, SVT mainstay Björn Störig gives ‘Seven Days’ the dance floor treatment by pitching down the original’s vocals and laying them over an elastic deep house bassline.

Here is the Seth Troxler remix of the track 'I Try To Talk To You' which is co-written by the excellent John Grant. The track is taken from the album 'The Feast Of The Broken Heart' which was released on the 26th May.

The first vocal collaboration of the new album's recording sessions, John's sexy tomcat voice and lyrical ability for translating hardship into elegance lent themselves greatly to the new album.

Andy Butler explains: "I asked John to dig deep with his lyrical contribution. I had no idea he would dig so deep. He tackled the story of becoming HIV positive, and while I mentioned to him that he did not need to go there if he was not comfortable, in that beautifully punky, spirited and courageous way he has about him, he told me that was what the song was going to be about. What came of it is an elegant song featuring John singing and playing his heart out.”

'I Try To Talk To You' was released with remixes on the 9th June.

Dantze can also go a bit more experimental. To demonstrate this we give you Ryan Mathiesen's exciting and sarcastically titled debut EP, "Nothing New". Leading the straighter side EP are two fat remixes. The Nusto Remix, another debut, the first collaboration from Nu and Nico Stojan and it sounds just like that, deep and bumping. The Niconé remix is a super fun take on the original and sure to be a big floorfiller this summer. Ryan's originals are multi-layered and sample heavy and revealing something new with each listen. When music producers Niconé and Sascha Braemer get together in the studio you can never tell when another idea will come round the corner. But what we can tell is that their newest production comes from the heart. It’s titled “Myheart” and makes for Berlin record label Dantze’s 48th release (once founded by Niconé and Philip Bader). The EP includes the original track of the same name and a remix by Alexander Gerlach. It may be purchased via <a href="http://www.beatport.com/release/myheart-feat-kimtoo/1314249">Beatport</a> since June 16th, 2014.

A couple of days ago Pascal Schmidt aka Pascís told our editor Sarah Schlifter how he turned into a DJ and music producer after professional skateboarding and an employment as Marketing and Sales Manager. Besides his time for the interview, the 31-year-old offered us one of his tracks titled “Stranger”. Now, the Cologne DJ’s second track is due: “Come Again”. “The track has been released on a limited DerSuperMarkt/Kompakt vinyl compilation only. There hasn’t been a digital release (so far)”, says Pascís.

Usually known for a more polished deep house approach, Beats & Error strays from the sound youd usually expect and focuses more on the raw side of techno gripped house beats. After a short and sweet buildup, the title track progresses into a luscious, dance inducing piece. The hypnosis continues after breakdown time, an attribute thats also the base of Niko Schwinds darker makeover. Darkland leads us onto a further trail of deep and, obviously enough, darker sounds, through ominous vocals set to nervous synths. Bjoern Stoerig is in charge of the remix, offering a more cinematic take on the track.
