Label regulars Cody Currie, Cor.ece, JKriv, Saucy Lady and Guinu are joined by newcomers Kim Anh, Prince of Queens, Yuu Udagawa, Gene Tellem and others for a 13-track sonic escapade through deep house, disco, and electronic sounds.

Our annual frenzy of remixes – The Round Up – enters its 10th edition. With that, we’re concluding a year full of special edition releases and finishing the Heist 10 year anniversary off with a bang. The Round up has always been a go-to release for label fans and house heads alike, and this year’s edition is one to look out for. We’ve got 2 of the coolest women in house & electronic music (Cinthie & Amy Dabbs), A Chicago legend (DJ Sneak), Amsterdam’s finest selectors (Dam Swindle), An Anglo-Scandinavian key wizard (Crackazat) and many more on this edition. With support for previous editions by artists such as Paul Woolford, Luke Slater, Honey Dijon, Nightmares on Wax, Dj Bone, Fred P, Helena Star, and Sam Divine, you know you’re gonna hear some great music on this release.

Dam Swindle give Cinthie’s summer jam ‘Wont u take me’ a spin by upping the tempo and energy and turn it into a peak-time classic house jam. Amy Dabbs takes one of the most heartfelt tunes of Crackazat’s mini LP ‘need to know’ and re-imagines it into an atmospheric anthem with a hint of jungle. Cinthie and DJ Sneak both opt for loopy & chunky house remixes, while UC Beatz takes on the first ever drum & bass track on Heist from Amy Dabbs: ‘Only breaks can love your heart’. It’s a tough remix to crack, especially when the original has been getting love from DJ’s and media alike, and it being in RA’s top tracks of October. He pulls it off perfectly though by creating a warm piano jam with all those lovely vocal cuts and strings from the original.

Crackazat goes into soulful house mode on his sultry remix for Krewcial’s spoken word – Afro jam ‘Owo’ and Krewcial himself delivers a low slung anthem with his remix for Orlando Voorn’s track ‘High’. Orlando Voorn takes things deep and quirky on his remix for UC Beatz’ track with Marina Trench ‘Make me feel’.

Half Dead Dave's debut, Them Salsa People, is a beautifully sweeping EP and showcases his diverse range, bringing together smooth, deep and organic synthesis with ethereal spoken word sampling.

'Church Picnic' got that feel of something from the classic Italian deep house days but with Dave's own twist.

Shur-I-Kan’s association with Freerange dates right back to 2000 when he remixed Audiomontage’s Flyin’ High following an introduction by mutual friend Tom Middleton.  Since then, Tom Szirtes has been a regular on the label, releasing two LP’s and ten EP’s which have all showcased his passion for the more ‘musical’ side of house music, stemming from his love of jazz and fusion legend Pat Metheny and his own skills as an accomplished keyboard player.  Over the years Shur-I-Kan has released on Tsuba, Lazy Days and his own Dark Energy as well as remixed for the likes of Pablo Fierra, Trackheadz and Fred Everything. 
On his latest outing entitled "State Of Emergency", Shur-I-Kan throws a curveball, going heads-down acid on the title track and providing one of his biggest dance-floor cuts to date in the process.  That said, the warm production, subtle textures and deeper elements are never that far away as vocal hits drift in and out of the mix and filtering pads remind us that it’s still resolutely a Shur-I-Kan record.   
Next up we have Out At Night, a track whose simple uplifting chord stabs bring a touch of tropical warmth to proceedings, a deep bassline and crisp, rolling drums providing the one-two punch.  
Rounding off the EP we have "Three Of A Kind", a fat-snared, big-bottomed belter with echoing melodic line, euphoric piano stabs and sparkling chimes.

After a long hiatus caused by the challenges and changes brought on by the Covid period, we’re finally ready to start again. We're coming back with fresh energy, new inspiration, and a lineup of exciting new projects. But we’re also returning with a new identity.

Black Angus Records is now BKA Records – Beats Kickin’ Again.

During these past years, while working on other musical ventures, we also took time to reflect on who we are, what we stand for, and where we’re headed. One important question we asked ourselves was: could our original name, Black Angus Records, be offensive or hurtful to anyone?

We know exactly how that name came about—it was a casual moment during a dinner with friends, while enjoying a Scottish black angus steak. It sounded good to us: bold, strong, like the kind of music we love to make. But we also understand that words matter, and we would never want our name to be misunderstood or perceived as insensitive.

Music is what truly matters to us.
It’s about expression, freedom, unity. It’s about blending cultures, sounds, and stories. Without that kind of exchange, there’s no real musical—or human—growth. Music should be a bridge, not a barrier. It should bring people together, not push them apart.

That’s the spirit behind BKA Records – Beats Kickin’ Again: a name that represents our desire to start fresh, to hit harder, to resonate louder. It’s a name that feels right—full of rhythm, energy, and rebirth.

To everyone who supported us as Black Angus Records: thank you. We hope you’ll join us in this new chapter. What’s coming next is just the beginning. Stay tuned—the beat is back.
