Gear: Gretsch G5230t plugged into Danelectro Fab Echo plugged into old Kay 703 low volume tube amp. Mic'd with a B&K BM-5 ribbon mic directly into an IK Multimedia Pro Duo interface. That's it, nothing else. No eq, no compression, no extra drive. 

The Danelectro Fab Echo is a very limited delay meant to emulate that old slap-back sound from the 50's, does a pretty good job even with lack of adjustments. The delay time is fixed but you can set the balance between direct and delay as well as set the number of echo repeats from a single slap to a bunch, simulating a reverb of sorts.
