wow you built this, sounds kind like an homage to flatulence

Sounds kind of like turntable scratching.

This song came to life as I wanted to describe the emotions that I’ve felt about the loud feelings and sensations of love. It’s the same love that I feel when I look up to a brilliant blue sky and to the inky blue star lit sky of the night. Love is a feeling that can be like the vast and never ending skies above us.

One of my favourite preludes. Fond memories of doing a detailed harmonic analysis of this with my late piano teacher, Cherry van Kranen in Wellington, New Zealand

Astin-Weight tall upright piano in untreated room recorded with Beyer 201s outside the player's (my) feet pointed in.

Upright bass, just 1 Beyer 201 pretty close, some proximity effect.

Both untreated save for bass cut on all tracks at 120

Written and composed by Michael White © 2012 All Rights Reserved. The players are Mike White (guitars & vocals), Dave Mattheiss (guitar) and Van Ertel (pedal steel). 

This piece was recorded in one pass using two Audio Technica AT4080 ribbon mics in Blumlein Array feeding two channels of GML mic pre, an RME ADI-8 DS A/D converter and into Pro Tools 10. No overdubs. I used minimal EQ (a little 1kHz to pop the vocal up), reverb, compression and limiting.

Oh, and it was hugely fun! I'm proud to have these talented guys as good friends and thank them for helping me demonstrate the power of these Audio Technica AT4080 ribbon mics in Blumlein Array.
